Mumbai: Škoda Auto India has announced the return of the Octavia RS with a second limited batch of 50 units, priced at ₹56,69,000 ex-showroom. Deliveries of the 265 PS performance sedan will begin next week, following what the company described as strong demand for the first batch introduced during the 2025 festive season.
Bookings for the latest allocation opened on August 18, when the Octavia RS was displayed at Škoda Auto India’s Sedan Legacy event alongside the new Slavia and the all-new Superb.
The latest batch arrives as the Octavia completes 30 years globally, while the RS badge traces its history back more than five decades. For Indian enthusiasts, however, the headline numbers are likely to matter just as much as the anniversary candles.
The Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 195 kW, or 265 PS, and 370 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Škoda claims the sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Progressive steering, sports suspension and a performance-oriented chassis setup are also part of the package, positioning the RS as the more driver-focused member of the Octavia family.

Sportier design, three colours
The Octavia RS distinguishes itself through a sharper exterior treatment that includes full LED Matrix headlights, LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators and glossy black detailing.
It rides on 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels fitted with 225/40 R19 sports tyres.
The second batch will be offered in three exterior colours: Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black. The first of those is unlikely to disappear quietly in an office parking lot.
The sedan measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width and 1,457 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,677 mm.
Despite its performance focus, practicality remains one of the Octavia RS’s stronger calling cards. Boot capacity stands at 600 litres and can be expanded to 1,555 litres.
Cabin gets sports seats, massage function and large touchscreen
Inside, the Octavia RS receives Suedia Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching and electrically adjustable front sports seats with memory, heating and massage functions.
Equipment also includes ambient lighting, a Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display and three-zone climate control.
A 32.77 cm infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while wireless smartphone charging is also included.
The audio system is a Canton 675W setup with 11 speakers and a subwoofer.
ADAS and 10 airbags included
Safety equipment includes 10 airbags and an advanced driver assistance system suite incorporating Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist and Intelligent Park Assist.
The sedan also receives a 360-degree Area View camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a Head-Up Display and electronic driving stability systems.
Convenience features include an electrically operated boot with a virtual pedal and a range of Škoda’s so-called Simply Clever features.
RS badge traces roots to Škoda motorsport
RS stands for Rally Sport and has its roots in Škoda’s motorsport history.
The designation was first used on the 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes in 1974 before becoming associated with the 130 RS, which recorded victories at the 1977 Rallye Monte-Carlo.
Škoda introduced the RS badge on a production model for the first time with the Octavia RS in 2000.
The Octavia RS reached India in 2004, when Škoda says it became the country’s first turbocharged petrol car.
Subsequent performance-oriented models sold in India included the Laura RS, Octavia RS 230 and Octavia RS 245.
The latest version increases output to 265 PS while retaining the Octavia’s traditional emphasis on usable cabin and luggage space.
Warranty and ownership package
Škoda Auto India is offering the Octavia RS with a four-year/100,000 km warranty, four years of complimentary roadside assistance and four labour-free services.
With only 50 units included in the second allocation, the Octavia RS will remain a relatively rare sight on Indian roads. Its return also underlines the continued presence of a small but visible market for traditional performance sedans at a time when SUVs and electrification increasingly dominate new-car launches.
For Škoda, the limited-run RS is therefore more than an anniversary exercise: it keeps one of the company’s longest-running enthusiast nameplates alive in India, combining serious pace with the decidedly un-supercar-like convenience of a 600-litre boot.
