BYD India Revises Prices of Select Electric Cars from July 1, Adds New eMAX 7 Variant

New Delhi: BYD India has announced a price revision of ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000 on select variants of its electric passenger vehicle portfolio, with the revised ex-showroom prices coming into effect from July 1, 2026.

The company said the revision applies to specific variants of the BYD Atto 3, BYD Sealion 7 and BYD Seal. Prices of certain BYD Atto 3 and BYD eMax 7 variants will remain unchanged, offering at least some relief to buyers who prefer their EV shopping with fewer calculator moments.

BYD India said the price increase has been introduced in response to rising input costs, inflationary pressures and continued investments in network expansion and advanced technology offerings in the country.

Alongside the price revision, the company has also expanded its India line-up with new BYD eMax 7 Comfort variants, starting at ₹27.90 lakh. The updated variants feature an enhanced battery capacity of 71.8 kWh, aimed at strengthening the MPV’s appeal among Indian customers looking for a family-oriented electric vehicle.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, said, “BYD India has witnessed an encouraging customer response across its electric passenger vehicle portfolio. As we continue to invest in technology, customer experience, and network expansion, we have implemented a price revision on a few variants in our range. We remain focused on delivering advanced, sustainable, and high-performance electric mobility solutions that cater to the evolving needs of Indian consumers, while continuing to provide exceptional value through a strong ownership experience.”

BYD’s electric passenger vehicle portfolio in India includes technologies such as its proprietary Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body architecture and Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control technology. The company has also introduced its global DM-i, or Dual Mode Intelligent, plug-in hybrid technology to the Indian market, marking its entry into the country’s hybrid passenger vehicle segment.

According to the company, these technologies are designed to improve safety, vehicle dynamics, energy efficiency and the overall driving experience across its product range. BYD’s India line-up currently spans premium electric SUVs, performance sedans and family-focused MPVs, targeting a range of buyers as the country’s electric vehicle market gradually moves beyond early adopters.

The company said it continues to expand its retail footprint in India, with 48 showrooms across 40 cities. The growing dealership network is expected to support wider access to BYD’s electric vehicle range, faster deliveries and improved customer support.

Globally, BYD said it has sold more than 16.5 million new energy vehicles. The company also said its vehicles have contributed to the reduction of more than 144 billion kilograms of CO2 emissions, equivalent to what nearly 2.41 billion trees would absorb.

The price revision comes at a time when electric vehicle makers in India are balancing customer demand, cost pressures and the need for wider sales and service infrastructure. For BYD, the latest update signals a dual strategy: absorb the realities of a more expensive market while continuing to broaden its product range for Indian buyers looking at electric mobility as a serious, everyday option.
