New Delhi: Renault India has launched the New Renault Kwid with a refreshed design, simplified variant line-up and a new online purchase benefit aimed at making first-car ownership easier for buyers in India.
The updated Kwid now carries Renault’s new brand identity and is available in a streamlined two-variant range: Evolution and Climber. Prices for the refreshed hatchback range from ₹4.52 lakh to ₹5.60 lakh.
As part of its new online sales and pricing strategy, Renault India is offering a ₹15,000 cash benefit on the Climber variant. This brings the effective transactional price of the fully loaded Kwid Climber to ₹4.99 lakh, positioning it as a value-focused option for first-time car buyers.

The company said the update has been designed keeping in mind a new generation of first-time buyers, especially those moving up from two-wheelers. By reducing the variant spread to two choices, Renault appears to be cutting through the usual small-car showroom puzzle — a welcome move for buyers who want a car, not a spreadsheet.
Commenting on the announcement, Francisco Hidalgo, VP – Sales and Marketing Renault India, said, “For millions of Indians, owning their first car remains an important milestone. With an increasingly aspirational middle class and a large base of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, first-time ownership continues to be a strong and enduring aspiration.
Over 4.5 lakh customers in India have started their journey with Kwid, and that trust is something we deeply value. With the New Kwid, we are building on this legacy by making the offering simpler, clearer, and more relevant.”
Since its debut in 2015, the Renault Kwid has played an important role in India’s entry hatchback segment. Its SUV-inspired design, high ground clearance and feature-led positioning helped give the category a more aspirational identity beyond basic urban mobility.
With the latest update, Renault is focusing on clearer value and a more straightforward buying experience. The New Kwid combines a refreshed exterior, a simplified line-up and digital purchase benefits, making the ownership proposition more accessible for customers entering the car market for the first time.
The Renault Kwid continues to offer an SUV-inspired design with wheel arch cladding, rugged body styling and Climber-specific exterior accents. It also gets a best-in-segment 184 mm ground clearance and best-in-class boot space of 279 litres, adding practicality to its city-friendly dimensions.
On the safety front, the Kwid comes with 17 standard safety features, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belt reminders. Feature highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital LED instrument cluster, rear-view camera with guidelines, remote keyless entry, central locking, power windows and power steering.
The hatchback is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine and is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as Renault’s Easy-R AMT transmission. AMT variants also feature a rotary dial gear selector for added convenience. USB and Bluetooth connectivity are also part of the package.
The refreshed Renault Kwid range is now available across Renault dealerships in India and through Renault India’s online sales platform.
For India’s entry-level car market, the New Kwid update is less about reinvention and more about simplification. At a time when first-time buyers are seeking affordability, features and easier decision-making, Renault is betting that a clearer line-up and sharper pricing can help the Kwid stay relevant in a segment where every rupee — and every feature — counts.
