New Delhi — Kia India, one of the country’s leading mass-premium automobile brands, has shifted its aftersales strategy firmly into eco-mode. The company today announced the inauguration of its 100th Green Workshop, a major milestone in its ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility solutions — proving that going green isn’t just a trend, it’s a full-blown workshop network.
Launched in 2023 with the inaugural facility at Ransh Kia, Rohtak, the initiative has now zoomed to Kanpur, where the 100th outlet at Bright Kia was unveiled. But Kia isn’t stopping at a neat century — the brand is gearing up to cross 150+ Green Workshops by 2026, because when it comes to sustainability, “limited edition” isn’t in the vocabulary.
“Achieving the milestone of 100 Green Workshops within a short span of two years underscores Kia India’s commitment to building a sustainable mobility ecosystem. Each workshop brings us closer to a world where progress doesn’t come at the planet’s cost,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India. “This initiative, alongside our portfolio of three EVs, is a significant reflection of our continued efforts to reduce environmental impact, enhance operational efficiency, and shape a cleaner, smarter mobility for our future generations.”
☀️ Sun-Powered Service, Tree-Sized Impact
Collectively, these Green Workshops generate a whopping 7.9 MW of solar power, enabling Kia India to prevent nearly 9,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions every year — equivalent to the hard work of 450,000 fully grown trees. That’s basically half a forest working full-time while your Seltos gets its oil changed.
💧 Water Smarts, Energy Savvy
Each workshop comes equipped with a sustainability toolkit that could make an environmentalist blush:
- Rainwater harvesting systems
- Natural lighting and motion-sensor energy controls
- Effluent treatment plants
- Steam wash systems that dramatically cut water use
- Waterless urinals with eco-friendly solutions
Add to that Kia’s robust recycling program for used batteries, waste oil, and hazardous materials, and you’ve got service centres that are as clean behind the scenes as your car’s windshield after a fresh wipe.
🌎 Sustainability That Scales
By integrating renewable energy and water conservation measures, Kia India is future-proofing its service network. The idea is simple: every oil change, alignment check, or AC service should leave the car better — and the planet no worse.
With this century milestone, Kia India isn’t just celebrating a number; it’s building an ecosystem where workshops double as green powerhouses. And if the current pace is anything to go by, the next 50 are just around the (solar-lit, water-recycled) corner.
