Volkswagen Virtus Sets New Record in October 2024, Cementing Top Spot in India’s Premium Sedan Market

Mumbai – Volkswagen Virtus achieved a landmark in October 2024, recording its highest-ever monthly sales at 2,351 units. With this impressive number, Virtus reinforces its position as India’s top-selling premium sedan, experiencing a 32% growth compared to October last year. This milestone also brings Virtus past the 50,000-unit mark domestically within just 28 months since its launch, selling an average of nearly 60 cars daily.

The surge in Virtus sales has fueled Volkswagen India’s overall success, with a 9% year-over-year growth in October sales. This upward trend highlights the enduring appeal of Volkswagen’s German-engineered lineup, celebrated for its quality, performance, and driver-centric experience. The Virtus, as India’s highest-selling premium sedan, continues to meet customer expectations, offering a blend of modern styling, driving comfort, and advanced safety features that resonate with Indian buyers.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, commented on the achievement, noting, “The Volkswagen Virtus’s success in India mirrors the faith our customers have in the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation. Virtus has set new benchmarks in the premium sedan segment, redefining customer expectations for driving dynamics, comfort, and safety. We are grateful for the unwavering support from our customers and are committed to creating memorable experiences for them.”

Since its introduction to the Indian market in 2022, the Virtus has driven a renaissance in the premium sedan segment, surpassing 50,000 units in domestic sales and selling over 17,000 units in 2024 alone. This growing demand underscores the Virtus’s role in reviving interest in premium sedans, standing strong in a market often dominated by other vehicle segments.
