Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the maker of BharatBenz trucks and buses, has opened a new 3S — sales, service and spare parts — facility in Gorakhpur, expanding its after-sales network across North India.
Operated in partnership with PPS Trucking, the facility is located at Kasarol Village, Sahjanwa, in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area along National Highway 27. The highway is a major transport corridor connecting Lucknow, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur.
Spread across 75,000 sq. ft., the facility has 11 bays, comprising nine service bays and two accident-repair bays. It has an annual servicing capacity of up to 4,100 vehicles.
The centre is equipped with diagnostic systems, modern workshop tools and an inventory of genuine BharatBenz spare parts. It will also offer 24×7 roadside assistance supported by mobile service vans, along with washing and wheel-alignment facilities.
The company said the outlet is intended to serve commercial vehicles involved in the transportation of sand and stone chips, industrial freight and long-haul operations, as well as buses and other vehicles moving through the region.
Gorakhpur occupies an important position in the freight network linking eastern Uttar Pradesh with central Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Northeast India and Nepal. Commercial vehicle movement in the region is supported by agriculture, construction, infrastructure projects, industry and the transportation of construction materials.
The surrounding GIDA industrial belt also generates freight movement involving raw materials and finished goods, making the location relevant for operators running both local and intercity fleets.
Its position along NH 27 is expected to provide easier workshop access for vehicles travelling through the corridor and potentially reduce the time spent reaching specialised maintenance facilities — an important consideration in a business where a stationary truck rarely earns its keep.
Commenting on the expansion and significant partnership, Rajiv Chaturvedi, President & Chief Business Officer, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said, “The expansion of our network reflects BharatBenz’s commitment to being closer to our customers and supporting their businesses. Gorakhpur is strategically positioned with significant movement of commercial vehicles supporting infrastructure, industrial and freight activity across the region. Our partnership with PPS Trucking enables us to bring a large-scale, professionally equipped service facility to this market, strengthening access to genuine parts, trained technical expertise and faster service support to help our customers operate their businesses more efficiently and profitably.”
The new outlet takes PPS Trucking’s network in Uttar Pradesh to 20 touchpoints.
Speaking on the inauguration of the new touchpoint, Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director, PPS Trucking, said, “We are delighted to further strengthen our network with the addition of new PPS Trucking-BharatBenz outlet, taking our network in Uttar Pradesh to 20 touchpoints. Gorakhpur’s strategic location enables us to serve a wider customer base in this key logistics and transport corridor connecting Eastern Uttar Pradesh to Northeast India and Nepal. This expansion brings us closer to our customers and reinforces our commitment to providing faster, seamless service support, enhancing vehicle uptime and driving greater profitability for our customers.”
The workshop will be staffed by 48 trained and certified technicians and includes dedicated rest areas and other amenities for drivers and fleet operators.
Its after-sales operations will cover preventive maintenance programmes, scheduled servicing, repairs, on-site assistance and express service options for BharatBenz trucks and buses.
The Gorakhpur opening comes as commercial vehicle manufacturers continue to expand service networks closer to freight corridors and industrial centres. For fleet operators, particularly those running vehicles across multiple states, the availability of trained technicians, spare parts and roadside assistance can be as important as the vehicle itself in keeping operating costs and downtime under control.
By expanding its service footprint along a busy North Indian transport corridor, BharatBenz and PPS Trucking are seeking to strengthen support for fleets moving between Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Northeast India and Nepal, where reliable workshop access remains a critical part of commercial vehicle operations.
