Bengaluru: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has introduced the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition, a limited-edition styling package that adds a series of blacked-out exterior elements to the midsize SUV. Priced at ₹31,999, the package will be offered on select Midnight Black G and V grades of the Neo Drive and Strong Hybrid versions until stocks last.
The Aero Black Edition is primarily a visual upgrade rather than a mechanical one, giving the Hyryder a darker and sportier appearance without altering its existing powertrain choices.
Among the additions are a front grille upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish and rear spoiler, all designed around the black exterior theme. Toyota has also added an exclusive ‘Aero Black’ Limited Edition badge to distinguish the model.
For buyers who feel there is still room for more black, Toyota dealers will also offer an “All Black Package” as a value-added option at an additional cost.
The Aero Black Edition package is available on the Midnight Black G and V grades, covering both the Neo Drive and Strong Hybrid powertrains. Toyota said the edition will be sold for a limited period and only while stocks remain.
The launch comes as the Urban Cruiser Hyryder crosses the 2-lakh sales milestone in India, according to Toyota. The SUV was introduced in 2022 and competes in the increasingly crowded B-SUV and midsize SUV market, where manufacturers have frequently used special editions and appearance packages to keep established models fresh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales–Service–Used Car Business & Profit Enhancement, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The Urban Cruiser Hyryder continues to appeal to modern SUV buyers with its stylish design, advanced technology, and enhanced comfort. With the launch of the Aero Black Edition, we are excited to introduce a more expressive and youthful design identity that resonates with evolving customer aspirations. The bold, black-themed styling further amplifies the UC Hyryder’s premium appeal, offering a more confident road presence.”

Two Powertrain Options
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder continues to be offered with Self-Charging Strong Hybrid Electric and Neo Drive powertrains.
The Strong Hybrid version uses an e-drive transmission and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 km/l. The Neo Drive range is powered by a 1.5-litre K-series engine and is available with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as 2WD and 4WD configurations.
Toyota has made no announcement of mechanical changes specifically for the Aero Black Edition, keeping the focus squarely on appearance.
Features and Equipment
Depending on the grade, the Hyryder’s equipment includes twin LED daytime running lamps, a Crystal Acrylic Grille and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the SUV offers features including ventilated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.
Rear-seat equipment includes reclining seats, rear AC vents and USB charging ports, while a 60:40 split-folding rear seat provides additional flexibility for luggage.
Toyota offers a standard 3-year/100,000 km warranty, which can be extended up to 5 years/220,000 km. Strong Hybrid models are additionally covered by an 8-year/160,000 km hybrid warranty.
The company describes the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition as a Toyota Genuine Accessories Limited Edition, with customers advised to contact their nearest Toyota dealership for pricing and other applicable details.
With the Aero Black Edition, Toyota is following a familiar industry formula: give an established SUV a sharper visual identity without rewriting what sits under the bonnet. In a segment where styling can matter almost as much as specifications, a little more black may be enough to give the Hyryder another reason to catch a buyer’s eye.
