India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is once again opening its doors to young innovators—because apparently even car factories now need startup energy alongside assembly-line energy drinks.
The company has selected six promising startups under the 10th Cohort of its flagship Accelerator Program, awarding them paid Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to jointly develop next-generation, AI-powered business solutions.
The chosen startups—Goat Robotics, SheerDrive, Schijnenn Digital, GenbaNEXT, Swayatt Drishtigochar, and Swiftex—will work closely with Maruti Suzuki on technology-led innovations aimed at making operations smarter, safer, and faster.
From improving plant safety and material traceability to reducing product development time and enhancing customer engagement at dealerships, the initiative signals Maruti Suzuki’s growing push toward intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation. In simpler terms: the company wants its factories and dealerships to think faster than your smartphone autocorrect.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the collaboration will focus on solving real-world industrial and customer-facing challenges through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, and data-driven systems.
Speaking on the development, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the company’s expanding operations require smarter and more scalable solutions. He noted that the startup collaborations would help improve plant safety, accelerate design and development cycles, strengthen material traceability to support circularity goals, and enable dealer sales executives to engage more effectively with customers.
Takeuchi also reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the Government of India’s Startup India initiative through innovation-led programs that offer mentorship, infrastructure access, and live business opportunities to emerging ventures.
The Maruti Suzuki Accelerator Program has steadily evolved into one of the automotive industry’s most active startup collaboration platforms in India. By integrating agile startup innovation with large-scale manufacturing expertise, the company is attempting to future-proof its operations while giving startups an opportunity to test and refine their technologies in real industrial environments.
For the selected startups, this is more than just a corporate handshake—it’s a chance to prove their ideas on one of India’s biggest automotive stages. And for Maruti Suzuki, it’s another reminder that the future of mobility may not just be electric or connected, but also startup-powered.
