Gurugram: Nissan Motor India has rolled out a clever new twist for family car buyers—introducing a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the all-new Nissan Gravite. And no, it’s not the usual compromise-laden CNG setup that eats into your luggage space like an overenthusiastic relative at a buffet.

Priced at an introductory ₹82,999, the highlight here is a segment-first twin-cylinder layout (2 x 25 litres), designed to retain the Gravite’s full 7-seater capability. In simple terms, you can now carry seven people and their bags—without having to choose between passengers and practicality.
The kit, developed and quality-assured by Motozen, is available across 60 cities in 16 states via authorised dealerships. Nissan is also offering a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty on the kit components through a third-party provider, adding a layer of reassurance for first-time CNG adopters.
Speaking on the launch, Thierry Sabbagh emphasised India’s importance as a strategic market, noting that the Gravite CNG aligns with evolving customer needs for accessible and future-ready mobility. Meanwhile, Saurabh Vatsa highlighted that the twin-cylinder setup ensures no compromise on space, flexibility, or everyday usability—essentially keeping the MPV’s core promise intact.
Under the skin, the system is fairly sophisticated. It features a Sequential BS6.2-compliant CNG kit with ICAT certification, heavy-duty 8.1 mm cylinder thickness for durability, and Dynamic Advancer Technology tuned specifically for the Gravite. The fuel filling point is neatly tucked under the fuel lid, and the integration is designed to look factory-finished—no awkward aftermarket vibes here.
More importantly, the setup allows seamless switching between petrol and CNG, ensuring that drivers don’t feel like they’re operating a science experiment every time they hit the road.
For Indian families juggling office commutes, school runs, and the occasional outstation trip, the Gravite CNG aims to make running costs significantly lighter. In a market where fuel efficiency often dictates buying decisions, this move could make owning a 7-seater MPV far more economical—especially in CNG-friendly regions.
And let’s not forget the environmental angle. With cleaner emissions compared to petrol, the Gravite CNG quietly ticks the “responsible mobility” box too—because saving money and the planet is a rare combo that deserves a nod.
With this launch, Nissan seems to be sending a clear message: practicality doesn’t have to come at the cost of comfort. And for once, CNG buyers won’t have to play a game of Tetris with their luggage.
