Toyota India Bags 9 Medals at IndiaSkills 2025-26, Proves Skill is the New Horsepower

Bengaluru: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has once again demonstrated that precision, talent and a bit of competitive spirit can be just as thrilling as a high-revving engine. At the prestigious IndiaSkills National Competition 2025-26, the company’s participants clinched an impressive tally of 9 medals, including 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze, across seven skill categories.

Often regarded as India’s ultimate arena for vocational excellence, IndiaSkills brings together the country’s brightest young minds, who battle it out through multiple stages—from district-level rounds all the way to the national finale. And this year, TKM’s squad didn’t just participate—they dominated.

A team of 14 participants represented Toyota Kirloskar Motor at the national stage, competing in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai. Their performances were nothing short of a masterclass in technical expertise.

In Mechatronics, Deepu M S and Jayanth K drove home Gold, while Ganesh P B and Punith Kumar secured Silver. Over in Robotic System Integration, Shashank S and Abhishek S S struck Gold, followed by Chirag G and Vinay M H with Silver. Additive Manufacturing saw Pavan B S take Gold and Harshith K B bag Silver—clearly proving that 3D printing isn’t just futuristic, it’s competitive too.

The wins didn’t stop there. Tejas B S clinched Gold in Auto Body Repair, while Punith P topped Mechanical Engineering CAD with another Gold. Meanwhile, Praveen Y H added a Bronze in Welding, ensuring the medal cabinet had a complete colour palette.

Behind these achievements lies Toyota’s long-standing commitment to transforming rural youth into world-class technicians. Through advanced training infrastructure, globally aligned curricula and a strong focus on real-world skills, TKM continues to build a workforce that’s ready not just for India—but for the world.

Commenting on the milestone, G. Shankara, Chief Strategy Officer at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, highlighted that manufacturing excellence begins with nurturing talent. He emphasized that such achievements reflect the spirit of India’s skill development movement—where innovation, creativity and technical mastery go hand in hand.

Next stop? The global stage. These winners will now gear up for the selection rounds of the WorldSkills Competition 2026, scheduled from September 22 to 27 in Shanghai, China. With over 60 countries and 65+ skills in play, the competition is often dubbed the “Olympics of Skills”—and if this performance is anything to go by, Team TKM might just carry India’s toolkit of excellence onto the world podium.

Because in today’s world, it’s not just about building great cars—it’s about building the people who build them.
