Exports power the momentum while Nissan’s newest SUV gets ready to roll into Indian driveways
Gurugram: Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has stepped into February 2026 with a confident stride, reporting total consolidated sales of 10,565 units, marking a 23% year-on-year growth. The performance reflects strengthening momentum across both domestic and export markets—and perhaps a little extra excitement in the air thanks to the arrival of the all-new Nissan Gravite.
The company recorded domestic wholesales of 2,230 units, while exports surged to 8,335 units during the month. In typical Nissan fashion, exports once again carried the heavier load—almost like that dependable friend who always volunteers to drive on a long road trip.
Exports Lead the Charge
India continues to play a strategic role in Nissan’s global manufacturing and export ecosystem. With more than three-quarters of February’s volume coming from overseas shipments, the company’s Indian operations remain a critical hub supporting global markets.
The strong export performance not only highlights the competitiveness of Nissan’s manufacturing base in India but also reinforces the brand’s long-term commitment to the country as a key production and export centre.
Gravite Launch Signals New Growth Phase
February also marked an important milestone for Nissan in India with the launch of the all-new Nissan Gravite, a model that has already generated strong interest among customers and dealers.
Following an enthusiastic market response and robust booking momentum across regions, customer deliveries of the Gravite officially began on 1st March 2026. The new SUV is expected to play a central role in Nissan’s next growth phase in the Indian market.
In a segment where SUVs seem to multiply faster than weekend road-trip plans, Nissan is betting that the Gravite will stand out with its design, technology, and value proposition.
Leadership Commentary
Commenting on the performance, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said:
“February has been an important and forward-looking month for Nissan in India. Our consolidated performance reflects stable underlying demand and continued strength in exports, reaffirming India’s strategic importance in Nissan’s global operations.
The launch of the all-new Nissan Gravite has generated an extremely encouraging response from customers, dealers, and partners. With deliveries commencing from March, we are confident that the coming months will reflect the true momentum of our portfolio in the market. We remain focused on sustained growth, delivering enhanced customer experiences, and strengthening our network footprint as we continue building a resilient and future-ready Nissan in India.”
Magnite Continues to Drive Momentum
Alongside the excitement around the Gravite, Nissan’s popular compact SUV Magnite continues to play a vital role in the company’s growth story. Its consistent demand in both domestic and export markets has helped Nissan maintain steady volumes and strengthen its presence across multiple regions.
The brand’s strategy of combining a refreshed product portfolio with expanding dealer networks is gradually helping Nissan regain momentum in the highly competitive Indian automotive landscape.
Road Ahead
With exports staying strong, the Magnite continuing its run, and the Gravite now entering customer garages, Nissan’s February performance signals a promising start to the year.
And if the Gravite’s early response is anything to go by, Nissan might soon find that Indian customers are not just gravitating toward SUVs—they’re “Graviting” toward Nissan.
