Mumbai: If February had only 28 days, Mahindra clearly decided to use each one of them wisely. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s leading automotive manufacturers, has reported total auto sales of 97,177 vehicles in February 2026, marking an impressive 18% year-on-year growth, including exports.
And leading this charge? No surprises here — it’s the SUVs doing what they do best: dominating the road and the sales charts.
SUVs Continue Their Victory Lap
In the Utility Vehicles (UV) segment, Mahindra recorded 60,018 domestic SUV sales, reflecting a solid 19% growth compared to the same period last year. Including exports, total SUV sales stood at 60,685 units.
From rugged lifestyle icons to family-friendly flagships, Mahindra’s SUV portfolio continues to enjoy strong demand across urban and rural markets alike. In simple terms: whether it’s the city commute or the off-road adventure, the Mahindra badge seems to be finding its way into more driveways.
Commercial Vehicles Stay Steady
Mahindra’s domestic Commercial Vehicle (CV) sales stood at 24,585 units, registering a 10% growth year-on-year. The steady performance underlines resilient demand in the logistics and infrastructure sectors, as India’s economic momentum continues to support freight and last-mile mobility needs.
Leadership Speak
Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said:
“February saw SUV sales of 60,018 units, a growth of 19% reflecting robust customer demand across the portfolio. Total vehicle sales stood at 97,177 units, an 18% year-on-year growth.”
In other words, the appetite for Mahindra SUVs remains anything but small.
The Bigger Picture
Crossing the 60,000 mark in monthly SUV sales is no small milestone. It signals not just strong brand traction but also the growing consumer shift toward SUVs as the default body style of choice in India.
With consistent product refreshes, feature-loaded offerings, and an expanding reach, Mahindra appears well-positioned to maintain this growth trajectory into the upcoming financial year.
If February is any indication, Mahindra’s growth story isn’t slowing down — it’s simply shifting into a higher gear.
