MG Motor India clocks 9% YoY growth in January 2026, powered by Cyberster, M9 and Windsor

Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India has kicked off calendar year 2026 with a confident start, registering 9% year-on-year growth in January compared to the same period last year. With 4,843 wholesale units dispatched, MG’s sales graph seems to be following a rather pleasant upward curve — the kind that CFOs frame and hang on office walls.

A major contributor to this momentum has been MG Select, the brand’s luxury retail channel, which continues to enjoy strong traction. Leading the charge is the MG Cyberster, proudly billed as the world’s fastest MG and currently India’s most glamorous way of silently embarrassing supercars at traffic lights. Close behind is the MG M9, the Presidential Limousine that looks less like a car and more like something global leaders would use to arrive at climate summits.

On the mass-market front, the company’s volume drivers remain in fine form. The MG Windsor, now India’s best-selling electric car, continues to convert first-time EV buyers, while the recently launched MG Hector keeps the ICE side of the showroom buzzing with steady demand.

Not one to rest on laurels (or charging cables), MG is already preparing its next big statement. In February, the brand will unveil India’s first D+ SUV – the MG Majestor. Promising larger-than-life proportions and a commanding road presence, the Majestor aims to redefine what “big SUV” really means — possibly requiring separate parking policies in Indian cities.

Formed in 2023, JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, a global Fortune 500 automotive giant, and the JSW Group, one of India’s leading diversified business groups. The partnership focuses on building a smart and sustainable automotive ecosystem in India, with a strong emphasis on advanced technology, futuristic products, deep localisation, and employment generation.

In short, with sports cars, limousines, best-selling EVs and now a D+ SUV on the way, JSW MG Motor India seems to be covering every possible automotive mood — from “weekend track day” to “presidential motorcade” — all in the same showroom.
