NEW DELHI: Kia India has re-launched its Kia Inspiring Drive (K.I.D) Program along with the New Kia Seltos, aiming to make Indian roads safer — and drivers a little more self-aware about their right foot. The initiative reinforces Kia’s focus on responsible driving, smart mobility, and turning everyday commuting into a data-backed learning experience.
Available in phases across Kia’s connected car portfolio, the K.I.D program can be accessed via the Kia Connect app, where drivers can now track how “inspiring” their driving really is — in real time.
At its core, K.I.D is a driving score system that analyses real-world driving behaviour using key parameters like rapid acceleration, sudden braking, and sharp starts. To avoid the classic “one good day, lifetime hero” problem, Kia uses a three-month rolling average, weighted according to the vehicle type. In simple terms, the score reflects your actual habits, not just that one unusually calm Sunday morning drive.
Safety Meets Social Media (Minus the Filters)
Beyond individual feedback, Kia is adding a community flavour to road safety. The K.I.D program introduces leaderboards and peer comparisons, allowing Kia owners to see how they stack up against fellow drivers. It’s essentially a fitness tracker — but for driving discipline. Less adrenaline, more anticipation.
The idea is to make safe driving both interactive and competitive, encouraging users to improve their scores and climb the community rankings. Because nothing motivates better braking like knowing your neighbour is doing better than you.
What Kia Has to Say
Commenting on the re-launch, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Kia India, said:
“Safety remains at the core of Kia’s philosophy, and with the re-launch of the Kia Inspiring Drive program alongside the New Seltos, we are taking another meaningful step towards encouraging responsible driving behaviour. By offering customers clear, data-driven insights into their driving patterns, the K.I.D program empowers them to make safer choices on the road, while also enhancing their overall ownership experience.”
The program uses real-time vehicle data to generate transparent and behaviour-based scores, rewarding smooth driving instead of aggressive manoeuvres. In other words, fewer racing instincts, more chauffeur energy.
How to Access It
Kia customers can activate the feature via:
Kia Connect App → New Services → Kia Inspiring Drive Program (Driving Score)
From there, it’s all about tracking performance, improving habits, and hopefully reducing both stress and insurance claims.
With K.I.D, Kia is effectively saying that in 2026, your car doesn’t just know where you’re going — it also knows how you’re getting there. And it’s keeping score.
