Kia Brings the Sky Within Reach: Carens Clavis HTE(EX) Debuts with Sunroof, FATC and Family-First Pricing

New Delhi:
Kia India has decided that Indian families deserve a bit more sunshine—quite literally. Strengthening its Carens Clavis (ICE) lineup, the brand has introduced a new HTE(EX) trim across all internal combustion powertrains, adding a healthy dose of comfort, convenience and visual polish—without sending prices into the stratosphere.

The headline act? A Sky Light Electric Sunroof, making its first-ever appearance in the G1.5 petrol powertrain of the Carens Clavis. Yes, the kids can now spot clouds, the adults can enjoy fresh air, and everyone can pretend they’re in a premium segment—without actually paying for one.

What’s New in the HTE(EX)?

Positioned above the existing HTE(O), the new HTE(EX) trim brings features that customers have been politely (and sometimes not so politely) asking for:

  • Sky Light Electric Sunroof (first time on G1.5 petrol) for an airier, more premium cabin feel
  • Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), because manual knobs belong in history books
  • LED DRLs and Position Lamps, sharpening the front-end style and road presence
  • LED Cabin Lamps, brightening up late-night drives and dropped snacks alike
  • Auto Up/Down Driver-Side Power Window, adding everyday convenience and safety

Powertrains & Prices (7-Seater Only)

The HTE(EX) trim is available across all ICE options, exclusively in a 7-seater configuration:

  • G1.5 Petrol – ₹12,54,900
  • G1.5 Turbo-Petrol – ₹13,41,900
  • D1.5 Diesel – ₹14,52,900
    (All prices ex-showroom)

Built on Customer Feedback (and Common Sense)

Developed after listening closely to evolving market preferences, the new trim caters squarely to families seeking space, flexibility and features—without the premium-tag anxiety. By spreading these upgrades across petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel options, Kia is ensuring buyers don’t have to choose between their preferred engine and the features they want.

Commenting on the launch, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Kia India, said the HTE(EX) is a direct result of customer insights, adding that features like the skylight sunroof and enhanced comfort tech make the Carens Clavis an even more compelling family package in a fiercely competitive segment.

The Bigger Picture

With the introduction of the HTE(EX), Kia continues to fine-tune the Carens Clavis (ICE) lineup—making premium features more accessible and reaffirming its customer-first strategy. In short, the Carens Clavis now offers more light, more comfort and more value—proving once again that you don’t need to go luxury to feel a little special.
