Pune:
After helping more than 11,000 young girls chase their dreams—often at a pace faster than a fully loaded truck cruising downhill—Mahindra Group has announced the 12th edition of its flagship CSR initiative, Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan. The programme continues its inspiring journey by offering 1,000 fresh scholarships worth ₹10,000 each to the daughters of truck drivers who have passed Class 10 and are pursuing further education.
Since its launch in 2014, Saarthi Abhiyaan has awarded 11,029 scholarships worth over ₹11 crore across India. That’s not just a statistic—it’s a convoy of confidence, determination and textbooks travelling to every corner of the country. And in a refreshingly inclusive move, these scholarships are brand-agnostic: whether the father drives a Mahindra truck or any other badge on wheels, the opportunity remains the same.
The initiative honours the often-unsung heroes of India’s highways—truck drivers who ensure that their daughters get equal opportunities to learn, grow and dream beyond the milestone of Class 10. Mahindra was among the first commercial vehicle manufacturers to recognise this spirit and build a structured programme around it. Selection for the 12th edition will be carried out through outreach at 75+ transport hubs nationwide, following a transparent and independent process.
Commenting on the announcement, Vinod Sahay, President – Trucks, Buses & Construction Equipment and Member of the Group Executive Board, said that Saarthi Abhiyaan goes beyond financial support. “Through this initiative, we are opening doors to a brighter future for girls and instilling hope in young hearts. By investing in their education today, we are helping shape empowered women who will contribute meaningfully to society and the economy tomorrow.”
Echoing the sentiment, Dr. Venkat Srinivas, Business Head – Trucks, Buses & Construction Equipment, Mahindra Group, added that the programme is as much about mindset as it is about money. “Our sustained commitment through Saarthi Abhiyaan uplifts the daughters of truck drivers and fosters a culture of aspiration and motivation. We aim to build a more equitable society where every girl can fulfil her potential and emerge as a leader of tomorrow.”
Each selected student will receive ₹10,000 via direct bank transfer, along with a certificate recognising her achievement. The felicitation ceremonies for the 1,000 scholarship recipients are scheduled between February and March 2026, to be hosted at select locations by Mahindra Truck and Bus leadership.
In an industry known for horsepower and payload, Mahindra’s Saarthi Abhiyaan is a gentle reminder that sometimes, the most powerful engine is education—and it can take you places no highway ever could.
