If 2025 had a report card, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India would be taking it home signed in bold red ink. The Group wrapped up the year with its highest-ever domestic sales of 117,000 units, riding a strong recovery in demand and a strategy that clearly knows its way around Indian roads—and international highways too.
Total volumes (domestic plus exports) touched 159,500 units, while the Group also crossed a symbolic and rather muscular milestone of 2 million Made-in-India vehicles. In short, local engineering is no longer just local—it’s boarding international flights regularly.
Kylaq Leads the Charge, MQB-A0-IN Does the Heavy Lifting
A major hero of the year was Škoda Kylaq, the Group’s first sub-4-metre SUV, which quickly became a volume driver and proof that compact doesn’t mean compromised. Underpinning this success is the India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform, now forming the backbone of all locally manufactured Škoda and Volkswagen models—engineered for Indian conditions, but with global quality standards baked in.
Exports also stayed firmly in the fast lane, crossing 715,000 cumulative units, as India strengthened its position as a key manufacturing hub for markets across GCC and ASEAN regions.
Virtus Rules Sedans, GTI Vanishes Faster Than Free Wi-Fi
On the brand front, Volkswagen continued its premium-sedan dominance, with the Volkswagen Virtus commanding a 38% share of its segment—proof that sedans are very much alive, just better dressed now. Meanwhile, the first batch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI sold out in days, reminding everyone that enthusiasm doesn’t need four doors or an SUV badge.
Škoda posted a stunning 107% growth, powered by Kylaq’s momentum and the emotional comeback of the Škoda Octavia RS—a car that still knows how to make enthusiasts grin.
Luxury Lane: From RSQ8 Thunder to Italian Drama
In the premium space, Audi sharpened its portfolio with Signature Editions of the Q7, Q3 and Q5, while the Audi RS Q8 Performance raised both eyebrows and heart rates.
Lamborghini added drama with the launch of the Lamborghini Temerario, while the Lamborghini Revuelto walked away with the ‘Super Car of the Year’ title—because subtlety was never the plan.
Porsche expanded to 13 points of sale, doubling down on experiential formats, and in a milestone move, Bentley joined the Group as its sixth brand, opening dealerships in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. British luxury, now officially fluent in Indian accents.
700 Touchpoints and Counting
With 700 customer touchpoints nationwide, SAVWIPL ensured that whether you’re shopping for a Kylaq or servicing a supercar, help is never too far away. Accessibility, it seems, is now as much a priority as aspiration.
Leadership View
Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said that 2025 marked a year of purposeful, broad-based progress, driven by localisation, scale and a robust product roadmap. As the Group moves into 2026, the focus remains on portfolio expansion, network growth and strengthening India’s role as a high-quality global manufacturing hub.
The Road Ahead
With multiple launches lined up for 2026 and sustainability firmly on the agenda, SAVWIPL appears set to keep the momentum rolling. After all, when “Made-in-India” starts sounding this confident globally, it’s clear the engine is running just fine—and there’s plenty of road left ahead.
