MG Windsor Rewrites India’s EV Record Books, Tops 2025 Sales Charts with 46,000+ Units and Unstoppable Momentum

46,735 units sold in CY2025; JSW MG Motor India creates history with a single EV model

Gurugram:
India’s EV race in 2025 had many contenders, but only one clear winner—and it wasn’t decided by a photo finish. The MG Windsor has officially emerged as India’s No. 1 selling electric vehicle of 2025, giving the country’s EV leaderboard a decisive jolt of electrons.

JSW MG Motor India sold 46,735+ units of the Windsor in CY2025, making it the first OEM in India to achieve such volumes with a single EV model. In simple terms: while others were charging their strategies, Windsor was already on the fast lane.

A Month-on-Month Momentum Machine

The MG Windsor didn’t rely on festive spikes or year-end discounts alone. It delivered consistently high month-on-month sales throughout CY2025, averaging close to 4,000 units every month—a rare feat in the four-wheeler EV space. The momentum only strengthened toward the finish line, with over 20% growth in Q4 2025 compared to Q4 2024.

Unsurprisingly, this Windsor-led charge helped JSW MG Motor India clock 19% overall growth in CY2025, while EV sales surged by an electrifying 111% year-on-year.

Why Families—and Fence-Sitters—Picked Windsor

The MG Windsor’s success isn’t built on spec sheets alone. It struck a chord with Indian families by blending space, comfort and technology with everyday usability. Think sedan-like stretch, SUV-like versatility, and an ownership experience that quietly tells ICE cars: “Thanks for everything, we’ve got it from here.”

Speaking on the milestone, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said the Windsor has gone beyond being just another EV. It has converted fence-sitters into proud EV owners, turned customers into brand advocates, and positioned itself as a trendsetter in India’s EV revolution—no charging sermon required.

Intelligent CUV with Business-Class Comfort

Positioned as India’s first Intelligent CUV, the MG Windsor smartly bridges segments. Under the skin, it delivers 100 kW (136 PS) of power and 200 Nm of torque, ensuring city commutes and highway runs are equally effortless.

Customers can choose between two battery options:

  • 38 kWh battery with a 332 km range
  • 52.9 kWh PRO battery delivering an impressive 449 km range

Its BaaS pricing, starting at ₹9.99 lakh + ₹3.9/km, has further lowered the EV entry barrier—making electric mobility feel less like a luxury experiment and more like a sensible household decision.

Inside, the Windsor leans into premium comfort with ‘Aero Lounge’ seats reclining up to 135 degrees, a 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen, and a clean, futuristic AeroGlide design language that refuses to be boxed into old-school categories.

The Bigger Signal

Perhaps the most telling takeaway is where these cars are selling. Demand isn’t limited to metros; non-metros and emerging markets are charging up just as fast, signalling that India’s EV shift is no longer a niche movement—it’s mainstream.

As 2026 begins, the MG Windsor doesn’t just carry a sales crown; it carries momentum. And if 2025 was about proving that EVs work for India, Windsor’s success suggests 2026 might be about asking a bigger question: who’s catching up next?
