Mahindra Signs Off 2025 in Top Gear: December SUV Sales Cross 50,000 as Total Volumes Hit 86,090 Units

Mumbai — As the calendar flipped to a brand-new year, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. clearly decided not to slow down. The homegrown auto major wrapped up December 2025 with total vehicle sales of 86,090 units, registering a robust 25% year-on-year growth, including exports—proof that Mahindra’s engines were still warm even as the year ended.

The star of the show, unsurprisingly, was the company’s ever-popular SUV portfolio. Mahindra sold 50,946 utility vehicles in the domestic market, marking a healthy 23% growth. In a country where SUVs now double up as family cars, road-trip machines and occasional personality statements, Mahindra continues to enjoy pole position.

Commercial vehicles also pulled their weight. Domestic sales in the LCV segment (<3.5T) stood at 24,786 units, delivering an impressive 34% growth. Clearly, while SUVs handled the lifestyle duties, Mahindra’s workhorses ensured business went on as usual—no year-end holidays here.

Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said, “Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! The calendar year 2025 ended on a positive note, with Mahindra clocking its highest-ever volumes in both SUVs and LCVs (<3.5T) segments. In December, we achieved SUV sales of 50,946 units and LCV sales of 24,786 units, taking total vehicle sales to 86,090 units—a 25% year-on-year growth.”

With record-breaking volumes, sustained demand across segments and a growing appetite for SUVs that show no signs of cooling down, Mahindra seems to have driven straight into 2026 without lifting its foot off the accelerator. If this momentum continues, the coming year might just need a bigger scoreboard.
