India’s finest amateur golfers earn their ticket to the World Finals in South Africa
Gurugram: BMW Group India brought the curtains down on the BMW Golf Cup 2025 National Finals in signature style at the iconic DLF Golf & Country Club, concluding what stands tall as one of India’s most prestigious and widely followed amateur golf tournaments. If precision driving defines BMW on the road, precision putting ruled the greens over an intense and elegant finale.
After two days of high-calibre competition, Vignesh Ranga Rao from Coimbatore, Karan Agarwal from Bengaluru, and G Lakshmi Shweta from Hyderabad emerged victorious in their respective categories. Their reward is nothing short of extraordinary — the honour of representing India at the BMW Golf Cup World Final in South Africa in 2026, where fairways are as dramatic as the competition itself.
Commenting on the occasion, Hardeep Singh Brar, President & CEO, BMW Group India, said the BMW Golf Cup perfectly reflects the brand’s philosophy where performance, precision and passion come together seamlessly. He congratulated all finalists and extended his best wishes to the winners as they prepare to carry India’s golfing flag on the global stage.
The 15th edition of the BMW Golf Cup in India witnessed participation from over 1,700 amateur golfers, who competed across 16 qualifying tournaments held in nine cities nationwide. Only the most consistent and composed players earned a place at the National Finals, where sporting excellence met luxury hospitality — a setting where even missed putts were softened by unmistakable BMW elegance.
In 2025, the tournament toured some of India’s most celebrated golf destinations including Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Noida, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Gurugram. Looking ahead, BMW Group India is expanding the footprint further, with Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna and Vadodara set to join the calendar for the BMW Golf Cup 2026, taking the championship to 13 cities across the country.
Adding further shine to the tournament were partnerships with premium global brands such as TaylorMade, Omega, Lufthansa, Vredestein, Google Pixel, Ballantine’s and HSBC, collectively elevating the BMW Golf Cup’s status as India’s premier amateur golf series — where luxury, lifestyle and sporting spirit share the same tee box.
Globally, the BMW Golf Cup is among the largest amateur golf tournament series in the world, with a legacy spanning over 25 years. What began as the BMW Invitation Tournament in the UK has evolved into a truly international championship, featuring nearly 1,000 qualifying tournaments, 100,000 players, and participation from up to 50 countries. India proudly stands among them at the World Finals.
Designed for customers, prospects and opinion leaders, the BMW Golf Cup blends competitive sport with exclusive social engagement. The tournament is contested across three categories — Category A (handicap up to 12), Category B (handicap 13–28) and the Ladies Category (handicap up to 28). Winners of each category at the National Finals earn the right to compete at the World Final, where national pride travels further than the longest drive.
As the final putt dropped at Gurugram, the BMW Golf Cup 2025 once again proved that in golf — much like in BMWs — it’s not just about speed or power, but about control, character and finishing in style.
