Keto Motors Signs ₹300-Crore MoU, Sets Wheels in Motion for Telangana’s Next EV Boom

Hyderabad — Telangana’s electric mobility map just got a bold new pin as Keto Motors inked a ₹300-crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to set up a cutting-edge electric bus manufacturing facility in Jadcherla. The MoU, signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 in Bharat Future City, positions the state for yet another leap in India’s clean mobility race — and gives Jadcherla bragging rights it didn’t even know it needed.

The upcoming plant will focus on 9-metre electric buses and is projected to generate over 2,000 direct jobs within three years — which means a lot of new lunchboxes, new dreams, and probably a few new tea stalls around the factory gate.

Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs (and perhaps owner of one of the longest official titles in India), presided over the MoU signing. The Telangana Government will fast-track all statutory approvals via the TG-iPASS system — a system now so efficient, it’s giving even express EVs a run for their money.

“Telangana continues to lead India’s transition to clean mobility,” the Minister said. “Keto Motors’ investment strengthens our EV value chain, boosts advanced manufacturing, and creates opportunities for our youth.” In short — clean air, clean jobs, clean mobility. A triple win.

Venkatesh Challa, Director of Keto Motors, echoed the enthusiasm while subtly reminding everyone that this isn’t just another factory — it’s a global ambition on wheels. “The new facility at Jadcherla will help us build world-class electric buses and support Telangana’s sustainable mobility goals,” he said. “This MoU is a key step in our long-term growth plan.” And with electric buses becoming the new rockstars of public transport, the timing couldn’t be better.

The announcement formed a key highlight at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 — a showcase of the state’s innovation engine, industrial prowess, and future roadmap, helmed by Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy. The Summit also unveiled the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision document, essentially the state’s playbook for a future where technology, sustainability, and industry all drive in the same lane.

This strategic partnership between Keto Motors and the Telangana Government sets the stage for a significant boost to India’s domestic EV manufacturing capabilities. With buses being among the earliest and most impactful adopters of electrification, the move adds muscle to both the state’s and the nation’s clean transportation ambitions.

As Keto Motors expands its presence and Telangana accelerates its EV vision, one thing is clear: Jadcherla is about to get very electric — and the future of India’s public transport just got a whole lot greener, quieter, and hopefully, far more punctual.
