Bridgestone India Hands Over the Keys: Rajarshi Moitra Accelerates into Managing Director Role

Pune — Bridgestone India has officially rotated its leadership tyres, announcing Rajarshi Moitra as the new Managing Director of Bridgestone India Private Ltd., effective January 1, 2026. And if management transitions were a road trip, this one just shifted smoothly from “Cruise Control” to “Sport+ Mode.”

Moitra, currently the Deputy Managing Director, will take over from the seasoned leader Hiroshi Yoshizane, who has been steering Bridgestone India since January 2024 while simultaneously managing roles in Asia Pacific, India, and China — proving once and for all that true multitasking is possible, provided you’re powered by premium Japanese discipline.

Yoshizane Moves Up, But Not Away — Corporate Ladder Mileage Continues

Starting January 1, 2026, Yoshizane will be promoted to Vice President and Senior Officer of Bridgestone Corporation. He will continue as:

  • Group President, BSAPIC
  • Chairman of the Board, Bridgestone India
  • Vice Chairman, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association

In short: he’s not leaving the highway. He’s just switching to a bigger, more powerful vehicle with multiple dashboards.

Reflecting on the journey, Yoshizane said that Bridgestone India’s teams have strengthened operations, expanded market presence, and planted seeds for future growth—an impressive feat for a company primarily known for tyres, not farming. His continued guidance will help the company maintain traction as it accelerates into 2026.

Moitra: The Road-Tested Leader Takes the Driver’s Seat

Speaking on his new role, Moitra shared:

“I’m deeply honored… and look forward to supporting our teams with Bridgestone’s mission of ‘Serving Society with Superior Quality.’”

Moitra is no rookie on this track. With 20+ years of experience across strategy, P&L leadership, sales, marketing, and major transformations, he joined Bridgestone India in 2019 to head the consumer business. Since then, his responsibilities have expanded faster than a tyre at 40 PSI: Consumer & Commercial Business, Solutions, Logistics, Supply Chain — you name it, he’s led it.

By 2024, he’d become Executive Director – Sales & Marketing. In May 2025, he moved up to Deputy Managing Director. And now, he’s taking full control of the steering wheel.

Bridgestone India: Rolling Toward a Sustainable Future

The leadership revamp is part of Bridgestone India’s transformation journey as it continues evolving into a sustainable solutions company, guided by the ambitious Bridgestone E8 Commitment.

With Moitra at the helm and Yoshizane providing strategic oversight, the company aims to:

  • Accelerate sustainable value creation
  • Strengthen innovation and R&D
  • Expand community impact
  • And keep India’s mobility sector moving safely, smoothly, and sustainably

In short: expect more grip, more innovation, and zero skidding into the future.
