Tata Motors Limited continues to prove that India’s backbone is built on wheels — and preferably ones carrying cargo. The company reported total commercial vehicle sales of 37,530 units in October 2025, a 10% year-on-year increase over the 34,259 units sold in October 2024. Clearly, business is booming and the country’s logistics sector is still rolling stronger than a dhaba’s tandoor fire.
The highlight of the month came from Tata’s Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) segment, which clocked 10,737 units, demonstrating that the big boys of the road are still the real stars of India’s supply chain. Meanwhile, the Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicle (ILMCV) segment put up a solid figure of 6,169 units, ensuring that urban transporters and regional haulers had plenty to celebrate this festive season.
Not to be left behind, the Passenger Carrier segment — the unsung heroes ferrying people from metro stations to office gates and from wedding venues to railway stations — added another 3,184 units, rounding off a strong performance across the board.
Industry observers say the uptick reflects improving infrastructure, festive-season freight demand, and the delightful discovery that India’s roads, despite their craters, remain passable enough for business.
With GST 2.0 reforms greasing the economic engine and festive freight turning into full-blown traffic, Tata Motors’ commercial division is shifting gears confidently toward a stronger close to 2025. After all, in India, when goods move, everything moves — preferably on a Tata.
