Mumbai: Tata Motors’ July 2025 sales report reads a bit like a Bollywood script—commercial vehicles flexing their muscles, passenger cars missing a few dance steps, and electric vehicles stealing the show with record-breaking moves.
The automaker registered total sales of 69,131 units in July 2025, a slight dip from 71,996 units in July 2024. Breaking it down, commercial vehicles kept the wheels turning with 28,956 units sold, marking a 7% year-on-year growth—a clear sign that trucks and buses are enjoying a road trip of their own.
Passenger vehicles, however, seemed to take a coffee break, clocking 40,175 units, down 11% YoY. But before anyone accuses Tata of stalling, the company proudly announced its highest-ever monthly EV sales, proving that the zero-emission future is not just a dream—it’s silently overtaking on the fast lane.
On the heavy-duty front, domestic sales of MH&ICV (medium, heavy trucks and buses) stood at 12,387 units, up from 11,174 units last year. Total MH&ICV sales, including international business, cruised at 13,669 units, against 11,886 units in July 2024. Clearly, Tata’s big boys aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
With EVs buzzing louder than a swarm of charging stations and trucks pulling their weight (quite literally), Tata Motors’ July report is proof that while cars may have tapped the brakes, the company’s journey towards growth and electrification is very much in the fast lane.
