MG has dropped the top, raised the bar, and left petrolheads spinning faster than its 3.2-second 0–100 sprint. The new MG Cyberster, a roofless bolt of lightning disguised as a roadster, has officially launched in India through JSW MG Motor’s luxury division, MG Select, with a price tag that starts at ₹72.49 lakh for pre-reserved buyers. Everyone else will have to cough up ₹74.99 lakh—and possibly their inhibitions.
Inspired by the legendary MGB Roadster but built for the TikTok age, the Cyberster is less “tea and crumpets” and more “caffeine and torque.” Its design is a carbon-fiber-clad fever dream: scissor doors worthy of an Italian midlife crisis, a soft-top roof to let your hair and regrets fly, and a drag coefficient so slippery (0.269 Cd), it makes soap jealous.
Electrified Elegance Meets Electric Violence
Underneath that sculpted, superhero-bodywork is a dual-motor AWD setup pumping out 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque—numbers that wouldn’t look out of place on a Ferrari’s Tinder profile. Thanks to Launch Control, this EV doesn’t launch—it teleports. The 0–100 kmph dash takes just 3.2 seconds, just enough time to regret not securing that neck brace.
But it’s not just speed—it’s range too. The 77 kWh battery, thinnest in the industry at 110 mm, serves up a generous MIDC-certified 580 km of guilt-free fun. And yes, that comes with a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner—so your hair may grey before your battery fades.
Step Inside the Spaceship
Inside, the Cyberster feels like a cockpit designed by gamers and cosplayers on espresso shots. You get three digital displays, Dinamica suede, premium vegan leather, and a BOSE sound system so crisp, your playlist will sound like it’s being performed live by holograms. Add PM2.5 air filtration and the whole cabin is basically an electric yoga retreat on wheels.
Color combos like Nuclear Yellow with a Black Roof and Modern Beige with Red Roof make sure no two Cybersters look alike—or go unnoticed in a valet line.
Brakes, Brains & Brawn
While it goes like a lunatic, it also stops like it’s seen its ex across the street—credit to Brembo 4-piston callipers. The chassis is a brainchild of ex-F1 engineer Marco Fainello, meaning you get razor-sharp double wishbone suspension, Formula 1 geometry, and enough grip to hold secrets and corners alike.
Safety isn’t an afterthought either. MG’s thrown in Level 2 ADAS, real-time driver monitoring, six airbags, and a body structure with best-in-class rollover resistance. The Cyberster may be wild, but it’s not reckless.
“Dreams Have Doors… Scissor Ones”
Speaking on the launch, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said:
“For many, roadsters were once daydreams. The Cyberster brings that dream to life—with the freedom of the open road and the conscience of an electric future.”
Well, sir, this dream comes with launch control, LED theatrics, and enough head-turning drama to make Bollywood seem subtle.
Bookings are now open at www.mgselect.co.in, with deliveries set to begin August 10, 2025. MG Select Experience Centres in 13 cities are ready to roll out the red carpet (and charge ports) for India’s most daring drop-top yet.
So if you’ve ever wanted a roadster that blends nostalgia, nitro, and NetZero—the MG Cyberster just cyber-stole your heart.
