Doha: In a move that’s as smooth as its bus suspensions, Tata Motors has officially driven into the Qatari commercial mobility space with the launch of its all-new LPO 1622 Euro VI bus—Qatar’s newest solution for moving people in large numbers without breaking the bank or the back.
Teaming up with long-time partner Al Hamad Automobiles, Tata Motors rolled out its most advanced people-mover yet, built to make daily commutes feel less like a journey of endurance and more like a glide across the desert sands. With a Cummins 5.6L engine pushing out a mighty 220 horses and 925Nm of torque, this 65-seater is no slouch—even if the passengers might be.

“With Qatar’s bustling workforce and ever-growing urban infrastructure, we wanted to offer a product that could handle the heat—both literal and logistical,” said Asif Shamim, Head of International Business at Tata Motors CV. “The LPO 1622 isn’t just a bus; it’s a business-class lounge with wheels, minus the Wi-Fi but with all the torque.”
Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles, echoed the excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to continue our long-distance relationship with Tata Motors. This new bus proves yet again that moving people can still be done in style, comfort, and with fewer breakdowns than your favourite soap opera.”
Tata’s first Euro VI-compliant bus in the Middle East comes fully loaded with safety and tech features that could make even a mid-size SUV feel inadequate—ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control, and even a Multimode Switch for those days when your route decides to get adventurous.
The bus also rides on tubeless radial tyres and a heavy-duty suspension setup, making potholes and speed bumps feel like minor inconveniences instead of back-cracking obstacles. Two seating options (61 and 65-seater) cater to operators juggling various transport needs—from full-shift staff runs to spontaneous karaoke group tours (mic not included).
In a surprise encore, Tata Motors also showcased its refreshed Prima range of Euro V heavy trucks, including the muscular 4040.K and the long-haul-ready 6040.S—perfect for Qatar’s growing appetite for construction, logistics, and all things heavy-duty.
With a presence in over 40 countries and vehicles ranging from compact cargo carriers to near-army-grade haulers, Tata Motors continues its journey toward global transport domination—one bus stop at a time.
In summary:
If you’re looking to move 60+ humans in style, without compromising on tech, torque, or total cost of ownership—Tata’s got your back. And your seats.
