Mumbai: In a move that’s greener than your aunt’s WhatsApp forwards about aloe vera, Tata Motors and Vertelo have officially joined hands to supercharge India’s shift to electric commercial vehicles—by making them way easier to lease.
The country’s largest commercial vehicle maker, Tata Motors, has inked a high-voltage Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vertelo, the cool new kid in town offering tailored electric mobility solutions. Their mission? To turn fleet electrification from a boardroom buzzword into everyday reality.

Under this MoU, Vertelo will roll out attractive leasing plans (read: less paperwork, more torque) for Tata’s entire lineup of electric commercial vehicles—including everything from the humble yet heroic Tata Ace EV to the burly Tata Prima E.55S. Basically, if it hauls and it hums, it’s on the menu.
Rajesh Kaul, VP & Business Head – Trucks at Tata Motors, didn’t hold back his enthusiasm:
“Our goal has always been to make sustainable mobility mainstream. With Vertelo, we’re not just putting more electric wheels on the road—we’re making sure fleet operators don’t need to sell a kidney to get them.”
Sandeep Gambhir, CEO of Vertelo, chimed in with equal spark:
“We’re thrilled to partner with a titan like Tata Motors. Our leasing model ensures that the only thing fleet owners will be shocked by… is how smooth the switch to electric can be.”
Tata Motors’ electric fleet now reads like a sustainability enthusiast’s wishlist: the Ace Pro EV, Intra EV, Starbus Ultra EV, Magna EV, and the futuristic Intercity EV 2.0, among others. Whether you’re delivering samosas across town or people across states, there’s a plug-in option ready to roll.
With a national push towards cleaner transport, a booming charging infrastructure, and Tata’s own Fleet Edge platform ensuring uptime and analytics magic, this alliance is more than just about leasing—it’s about leading the charge, quite literally.
So if you’re a fleet owner still clinging to diesel like it’s your ex’s hoodie, it might be time to let go. The future is electric, and thanks to Tata and Vertelo—it’s now comfortably leased too.
