Bangalore – Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is cruising into FY2025 with the wind firmly in its sales. The automaker clocked 27,324 units in April 2025, marking an impressive 33% growth compared to the same month last year. And no, they didn’t use nitrous oxide — just good old reliability, innovation, and a solid customer base.
Of the total, 24,833 units were sold domestically, while 2,491 units were exported to markets that clearly agree with India’s taste in cars. For context, Toyota sold 20,494 units in April 2024 — so we’re talking nearly 7,000 more vehicles on the road in just 12 months.
What makes this achievement even more noteworthy is that TKM managed it despite a scheduled maintenance shutdown from April 21 to 25, presumably giving their machines a well-deserved spa week. Apparently, even when the tools are resting, the orders keep coming.
The company’s latest fiscal year ended with record-breaking sales — and April proves that momentum is still firmly in gear. Leading the charge is the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which recently received a tech and safety refresh and is now even more appealing to India’s growing tribe of SUV seekers.
Commenting on the strong start, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales, Service, and Used Car Business, said, “This growth proves that when you offer the right technology at the right time, customers respond. Our multi-pathway approach means there’s a Toyota for every kind of Indian driver – from the mileage-minded to the adventure-inclined.”
With a clear focus on listening to customer feedback and adding value where it counts, Toyota is all set to steer through 2025 with confidence, charisma, and possibly another record or two.
