Mumbai – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s top-tier automotive giants, has announced a robust finish to the financial year, reporting total auto sales of 83,894 vehicles in March 2025 – marking a 23% year-on-year growth, including exports.

The company’s SUV segment remained the standout performer, with 48,048 vehicles sold in the domestic market, registering an 18% growth. Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, touched 50,835 units. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market reached 23,951 units, rounding off a strong performance across key segments.

Mahindra’s momentum wasn’t limited to March alone. For the entire fiscal year, the company recorded 5,51,487 SUVs sold, its highest-ever annual SUV sales, growing by 20% year-on-year. The brand also notched up the highest Vahan registrations, reflecting strong market traction and effective inventory management.

Key milestones from the fiscal year include:

  • India’s No. 1 SUV manufacturer by volume
  • No. 2 Passenger Vehicle brand by revenue
  • Over 50% market share in the LCV (<3.5T) category
  • 41% year-on-year growth in international operations
  • Recognition as the only Indian automotive company to attain DJSI Index World Leader status

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., commented,

“March capped off an exceptional year with 48,048 SUVs sold and a total of 83,894 vehicles – a 23% growth over last year. The successful delivery kick-off for our Electric Origin SUVs underscores the strong demand we continue to see. Selling over half a million SUVs in India for the first time ever is a remarkable milestone.”

With strong growth across both ICE and EV portfolios, Mahindra ends the fiscal year on a high, signaling its dominant position in India’s fast-evolving automotive landscape and its global ambitions gaining steady traction.
