Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has achieved a historic milestone through its pre-owned car program, Hyundai Promise, recording its highest-ever yearly sales in Calendar Year (CY) 2024. With 1,57,503 pre-owned cars sold, Hyundai Promise marked a robust 5.8% year-on-year (YoY) growth, solidifying its position as the second-largest OEM-driven pre-owned car program in India.
Certified pre-owned car sales under Hyundai Promise surged to 35,553 units, contributing 23% to the total volume and registering an impressive 8% YoY growth. The Hyundai i20, Creta, and Grand i10 emerged as the best-sellers, collectively accounting for 55% of total certified pre-owned car sales. SUVs also made a significant impact, constituting 21% of the certified sales, with the Creta leading at 13% and Venue contributing 8%.

Strengthening its market engagement, Hyundai Promise recorded its highest-ever exchange outreach at 20.4% in CY 2024. Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, emphasized the program’s success in addressing market challenges, stating, “The pre-owned car market in India requires enhanced transparency, trust, and reliability. Hyundai Promise has redefined the buying and selling experience by leveraging Hyundai’s brand trust and advanced technology. With over 1 million pre-owned car sales since inception, our program continues to raise industry standards.”
Hyundai Promise cars undergo a rigorous 161-point quality check before being certified. Added benefits include a 1-year comprehensive warranty for cars under 7 years old and a 6-month engine and transmission warranty for cars aged 7-10 years. Roadside assistance and up to two free services are also part of the package, ensuring a new-car-like ownership experience.
Leveraging digital innovation, Hyundai’s ‘Click-to-Buy’ platform on hyundai.co.in offers a seamless online experience, enabling customers to explore certified pre-owned cars, schedule test drives, and book vehicles from the comfort of their homes. Sellers can request evaluations, upload documents, and receive offers through a streamlined phygital process. The H-Smart App for dealers further enhances transparency and ensures sellers get the best prices for their used cars.
