Mumbai, 13th February 2025: Tata.ev, India’s pioneering force in electric vehicle (EV) mobility, has unveiled an ambitious plan to reshape the nation’s charging infrastructure, targeting over 400,000 charge points by 2027. This landmark initiative is set to revolutionize India’s EV ecosystem, more than doubling the existing network and providing drivers with unprecedented convenience and reliability.
Fueling the Charge Forward Since crossing the milestone of 200,000 EV sales, Tata.ev has been relentless in its pursuit of creating a seamless EV experience. Having led the way in integrating home and public charging solutions since 2019, the company is now spearheading the next evolution with its ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ framework.

Under this enhanced collaboration model, Tata.ev will work closely with leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to install 30,000+ new public fast chargers by 2027. Game-Changing Developments Tata.ev’s latest announcement introduces several industry-first initiatives designed to address common pain points for EV owners and build user confidence:
- Mega Charger Network: 500+ superfast chargers will be installed in key cities and along highways, offering rapid, reliable charging with priority access and tariff benefits for Tata.ev customers. This is being rolled out in collaboration with Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon.
- Tata.ev Verified Chargers: Introduced to eliminate uncertainty, drivers can locate trusted and certified charge points through the iRA app, reducing range anxiety and enhancing peace of mind.
- 24×7 Charging Helpline: A dedicated customer support line will offer round-the-clock assistance to address any charging concerns.
- Unified Payments Wallet: Designed to simplify payments across all partner charging networks, ensuring seamless transactions for users.
