Since 2020, HMIF has invested a cumulative INR 400 Crore in mid-to-long term projects, aligning its efforts with Hyundai’s global vision of “Progress for Humanity.”
Spanning 26 states and 1,250 villages, HMIF’s outreach covers diverse sectors including education, healthcare, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The foundation’s initiatives have not only directly benefited millions of individuals but have also fostered economic self-reliance, generating income advantages worth over INR 40 Crore for local communities.

At the heart of HMIF’s efforts is a commitment to inclusive growth. “2024 has been a defining year for the Hyundai Motor India Foundation,” remarked Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Limited. “We have taken significant strides in addressing critical challenges in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. - Environmental Stewardship: In an ambitious drive to combat climate change, HMIF reduced CO₂ emissions by 21,811 tons in 2024. The foundation also spearheaded a massive tree-planting drive, adding over 21,000 trees to India’s green cover, and recycled an impressive 7,52,250 kg of waste, reinforcing its commitment to circular economy practices.
- Economic Empowerment: By supporting community-driven economic initiatives, HMIF has generated income benefits valued at over INR 40 Crore. This strategic investment is empowering local communities to achieve economic self-reliance and sustainable growth.
- Educational and Cultural Upliftment: Demonstrating a commitment to nurturing talent and diversity, HMIF awarded scholarships worth INR 3.38 Crore, supporting young aspirants across the nation. Additionally, the foundation provided grants totaling INR 1.65 Crore to 150 multidisciplinary artists, promoting creativity and cultural diversity, while also extending dedicated support to 481 specially-abled individuals through focused projects.
