In a landmark event signaling India’s rise in the global mobility sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Speaking before a diverse gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and international dignitaries, the Prime Minister paid tribute to automotive visionaries Ratan Tata and Osamu Suzuki, stating their contributions “will continue to inspire generations in the mobility sector.”
The expo, hailed as the second-largest automotive show globally, spans a massive 2 lakh square meters across three venues in Delhi-NCR—Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the scale and significance of the event, expressing confidence that by 2026, it will become the largest auto expo worldwide.
Showcasing India’s Growth Story
Goyal emphasized that the expo encapsulates the “India story,” showcasing innovation, sustainability, and the nation’s growing prominence in global supply chains. He noted the event as a testament to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative, with participation from startups, leading auto manufacturers, and component makers.
“India’s mobility sector is becoming a symbol of self-reliance and global competitiveness,” Goyal remarked. “With our cost-effective solutions, focus on quality, and sustainability initiatives, we are redefining the future of transportation.”
The Expo as a Platform for Global Collaboration
Positioned as a hub for international partnerships, Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 aims to attract global investors to India’s thriving mobility market. Goyal urged international stakeholders to leverage India’s business-friendly ecosystem and growing consumer base.
“Innovation, sustainability, and collaboration are at the heart of this expo,” he said, welcoming global leaders and policymakers to participate in shaping the mobility landscape.
Electric Vehicles: The Future of Mobility
Goyal spotlighted the pivotal role of electric vehicles (EVs) in reshaping the mobility sector, urging first-time car buyers to consider EVs as a sustainable choice. He emphasized the government’s efforts to enhance battery technology and improve EV designs to align with global standards.
“Electric vehicles not only reduce pollution but also decrease dependency on foreign exchange,” he said. “This is a win-win for both the environment and the economy.”
A Visionary Push for MICE Infrastructure
The multi-venue expo underscores the Prime Minister’s vision to develop world-class Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) infrastructure in India. Goyal highlighted that the addition of Yashobhoomi and India Expo Centre as venues reflects the rapid growth of India’s capacity to host global events of this magnitude.
Looking Ahead to Viksit Bharat 2047
Goyal articulated the long-term vision for the mobility sector, underscoring its critical role in achieving the government’s goal of a developed India by 2047. He noted that the collaborations and innovations emerging from the expo would contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth and improve the ease of living for its citizens.

The event is organized by the Engineering Export Promotion Council India (EEPC India) with support from prominent industry bodies such as SIAM, ACMA, NASSCOM, and CII. It represents a joint effort by the government and private sector to make India a global leader in mobility.
