Hyundai Ioniq 5 Powers Into History: Sets Guinness World Record for Greatest Altitude Change by Electric Car

Gurugram – In a historic achievement for electric mobility, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) proudly announced that its flagship electric SUV, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, has earned a prestigious Guinness World Records title for the Greatest altitude change by an electric car. The record-breaking journey spanned an elevation shift of 5802 meters, traversing from the world’s highest motorable pass, Umling La in Ladakh (5799m above sea level), to Kuttanad in Kerala (3m below sea level).

This extraordinary feat was achieved over a grueling 14-day expedition, covering 4,900 kilometers across diverse terrains and extreme climates, showcasing the unmatched resilience and cutting-edge engineering of the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The challenge, undertaken by Evo India’s professional driving team, demanded the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to perform under severe conditions. From the icy heights of the Himalayan mountain passes to the tropical humidity of Kerala’s coastal plains, the electric SUV delivered flawless performance. The journey underscored the vehicle’s capabilities, including its superior range, durability, and advanced Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) technology.
