Hyderabad: JSW MG Motor India, in collaboration with RAAM MG, celebrated a major milestone with the delivery of 100 units of the MG Windsor, marking a significant moment in the electric vehicle (EV) market in Hyderabad. This delivery reflects the increasing popularity of the MG Windsor, India’s first intelligent CUV, as it continues to gain traction across the nation.
The surge in EV demand is poised to escalate further, thanks to Telangana’s newly introduced ‘Telangana Electric Vehicle & Energy Storage Policy 2020-2030’. The policy offers a substantial incentive in the form of a 100% road tax exemption for electric vehicles registered in the state until December 31, 2026. This move is set to encourage the adoption of EVs, including electric two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles, further boosting Telangana’s green vehicle initiative.
The MG Windsor has already made a substantial impact on the market, with October 2024 sales surpassing expectations. The model quickly became a top seller, contributing to nearly 30% of all passenger electric car sales that month. Furthermore, the Windsor made history by becoming the first passenger EV in India to receive over 15,000 bookings within just 24 hours of its announcement.
Amith Nalla Reddy, Dealer Principal at RAAM MG, expressed his excitement at the car’s success, saying, “The response to the MG Windsor has been overwhelming, and delivering 100 units in a single day speaks volumes about its popularity. The car’s unique offering and the Telangana government’s new policy to incentivize EV purchases are catalysts for accelerating EV adoption in the state.”

Prices for the Windsor start at INR 13,49,800 (Ex-Showroom), with an alternative purchase option under the ‘Battery as a Service’ (BaaS) program at INR 9.99 Lakhs plus a battery rental at ₹3.5/km. Additional perks include a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, a 60% buyback after three years, and one year of free charging at public eHUB stations.
The Windsor is packed with cutting-edge features, such as Aero Lounge seats that offer a 135° recline for ultimate relaxation, a 604-litre boot for ample luggage space, and an IP67-certified 38kWh battery. The vehicle also offers four driving modes—Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport—providing versatility for various driving styles.
