Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced the appointment of industry veteran James Crichton as the new Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa, effective November 1, 2024. Crichton, who brings over 14 years of experience with Rolls-Royce, will be based at the regional headquarters in Dubai, marking a return to the office he helped establish in 2011.
In his previous role as General Manager of Global Sales Operations, Crichton was pivotal in shaping Rolls-Royce’s sales strategies worldwide. His extensive experience with the brand, coupled with a deep understanding of the Middle East and African markets, positions him well to lead Rolls-Royce’s continued expansion in these regions, which are known for their discerning clientele and demand for bespoke luxury.
Julian Jenkins, Rolls-Royce’s Director of Sales & Brand, expressed confidence in Crichton’s leadership, highlighting the strategic importance of the Middle East and Africa. “James’s return to Dubai reunites him with a region where he has already made a significant impact. His expertise will be instrumental in continuing to provide exceptional service and bespoke experiences to our clients here,” Jenkins said.
A South African native, Crichton began his career with the BMW Group in 1999, initially working out of Johannesburg before expanding his experience internationally. His journey with Rolls-Royce has taken him through various pivotal roles, including Director for Europe & Central Asia, adding to his nuanced grasp of the global luxury market.
Crichton succeeds César Habib, who has chosen to pursue other business interests. Rolls-Royce’s Middle East & Africa division, which boasts the company’s first Private Office outside of Goodwood and produces some of the brand’s most elaborate bespoke commissions, anticipates further growth and innovation under Crichton’s leadership.
