NueGo Embarks on Historic 4,000 km Electric Bus Journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari

Ghaziabad – In a groundbreaking move to promote sustainable mass transportation, NueGo, a leading electric bus brand from GreenCell Mobility, has launched the historic “Kashmir to Kanyakumari (E-K2K)” electric bus expedition. This journey marks the world’s first such venture by an electric bus brand, aiming to cover over 4,000 kilometers from the highlands of Kashmir at 3,500 feet to the coastal plains of Kanyakumari.

Over the course of its journey, the E-K2K bus will travel through more than 200 towns and cities, acting as a symbol of India’s cultural diversity and rich heritage while spreading the message of sustainable mobility. The initiative will feature a series of impactful community events such as student workshops, tree plantation drives, city clean-up initiatives, and safety-themed street plays, known as “Nukkad Natak,” in key cities like Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bhopal, and Bangalore. These activities embody the campaign’s motto, “The E-bus that does good,” showcasing the positive societal impact that electric mobility can bring.

The expedition was ceremonially launched in Jammu on 4th October by Dr. Devansh Yadav, CEO of Jammu Smart City and JMC Commissioner. Today, at the NueGo depot hub in Ghaziabad, the flag-off event saw the presence of several esteemed guests, including Sudhendu J. Sinha, Advisor at NITI Aayog; Dr. Sanjeev K. Lohia, Senior Advisor at The World Bank; Mahua Acharya, former MD & CEO of CESL; Abhijeet Sinha, Project Director at NHEV; and Amit Bhatt, Managing Director at ICCT India.

During the event, Mr. Devendra Chawla, CEO and MD of GreenCell Mobility, highlighted the significance of the expedition. “NueGo’s ambitious E-K2K journey will cover over 4,000 kilometers, showcasing the durability and capability of electric buses across India’s diverse terrains. This initiative not only sets a new record but also reflects India’s cultural richness. By passing through 200+ cities, we hope to inspire a nationwide transition to electric buses and promote sustainable transport solutions. Our journey demonstrates the resilience and promise of green technology.”

Dhanpal Jhaveri, CEO of Eversource Capital, also expressed his support, stating, “We applaud GreenCell Mobility’s groundbreaking E-K2K expedition. This initiative is a crucial step toward demonstrating the commercial viability and environmental benefits of electric mobility in India. At Eversource, we are committed to investing in clean technologies like electric vehicles to address climate challenges and accelerate the shift to a low-carbon economy.”

NueGo’s electric buses, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for comfort and safety, aim to provide a premium travel experience while maintaining minimal environmental impact. The expedition will serve as a powerful testament to the practicality and reliability of electric buses, demonstrating their ability to navigate a wide range of terrains, from picturesque valleys to bustling urban landscapes.

As the E-K2K journey unfolds, NueGo’s mission is to inspire communities across India to embrace electric mobility, promoting cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions for a greener future.
