Hyundai India’s September Surge: Record SUV Sales and CNG Boost Propel Strong Growth

Gurugram – Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has recorded an impressive total sales of 64,201 units in September 2024, marking a month of notable achievements. Out of these, 51,101 units were sold domestically, while 13,100 units were exported. These figures contribute to a total year-to-date (YTD) sales tally of 5,77,711 units for the period from January to September 2024.

September proved to be a landmark month for Hyundai, with SUVs making up a record 70% of total sales. The launch of the bold new Hyundai Alcazar, alongside strong performances from the Exter, Venue, and Creta models, was instrumental in this achievement. The growing demand for SUVs in India has been a key driver behind Hyundai’s success.

In addition to the SUV surge, Hyundai also saw a significant increase in the sales of CNG-powered vehicles, which accounted for 13.8% of total sales. This is the highest-ever monthly contribution for CNG vehicles in the company’s history, supported by the introduction of the Dual Cylinder CNG in the Exter and Grand i10 Nios.

Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “The new Hyundai Alcazar has redefined expectations for 6/7-seater SUVs, and its launch, combined with the performance of our other SUV models, propelled us to a record-breaking month. Additionally, the growing demand for CNG-powered vehicles highlights our commitment to offering eco-friendly mobility solutions.”

As the festive season approaches, Hyundai is gearing up for increased demand, with new models and variants ready to cater to the diverse needs of Indian consumers. With dealerships prepared to ensure timely deliveries, Hyundai is optimistic about continuing its growth trajectory in the coming months.
