Mumbai car enthusiasts were in for a treat recently when an ultra-rare Morgan Aero 8 made a jaw-dropping appearance on the city’s streets. Spotted in an eye-catching blue, the sports car was captured by renowned car enthusiast page, theweekendcarz. Sporting a VIP license plate ending in 0008, this Aero 8 belongs to the prestigious RNA Garage, a collection known for housing some of the world’s most sought-after exotic vehicles.
The Morgan Aero 8 joins an elite roster in RNA Garage, which includes a Lamborghini Aventador, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Toyota Supra MK5, BMW i8, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Jeep Apocalypse 6×6, Dodge Challenger, Ferrari 458 Italia, and Lotus Evora, among others. However, the Aero 8 stands out not only for its exclusivity but for its unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Built by the Morgan Motor Company in Malvern Link, England, the Aero 8 was produced between 2000 and 2018. Its design is a masterclass in functional aesthetics, spearheaded by Chris Lawrence, Charles Morgan, and the Morgan Engineering Team, alongside Norman Kent of Survirn Engineering Ltd. The car’s signature “crosseyed” headlight design, though controversial, was originally intended to provide aerodynamic advantages.
Under its retro-styled hood, the Morgan Aero 8 packs a powerful 4.4-liter BMW M62 V8 engine, paired with a 6-speed Getrag transmission, making it a dream for driving purists. With a combination of British craftsmanship and German engineering, the Aero 8 offers a thrilling driving experience while turning heads with its timeless design.
For now, Mumbai’s streets have one more jewel in their automotive crown, with the Morgan Aero 8 joining an already impressive collection of luxury vehicles.
