Nissan Magnite Shatters Records: 1.5 Lakh Sales Milestone and Highest Monthly Exports in Five Years

Domestic Sales and Export Growth Highlight August 2024 Triumph for Nissan Motor India

Nissan Motor India celebrated a major milestone in August 2024, as the Nissan Magnite crossed 1.5 lakh cumulative sales since its launch in December 2020. The company reported its highest wholesale figures for FY24, with 10,624 units sold in August alone. In addition, Nissan achieved a record-breaking export volume of 8,361 units—its highest in five years—demonstrating the Magnite’s global appeal.

This surge in sales and exports comes amidst a challenging automotive landscape, solidifying the Magnite’s role as a key player in Nissan’s portfolio. Despite industry-wide hurdles, Nissan’s domestic wholesale dispatches reached 2,263 units in August 2024, contributing to a modest year-on-year (YoY) growth of 0.2% and a month-on-month (MoM) increase of 12.5%. The export front saw even more impressive numbers, with a YoY growth of 336% and a MoM leap of 91%, driven by strong demand in markets around the world.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, expressed pride in the company’s performance: “August has been a remarkable month, despite challenges in the overall industry. Our combined efforts, along with our dealer partners, have produced fantastic results, both domestically and in export markets. The 1.5 lakh sales milestone of the Nissan Magnite underscores the strength of our ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy.”

Since its debut, the Magnite has captivated both Indian and global consumers with its combination of Japanese design and Indian manufacturing prowess. The car is currently exported to over 17 international markets, including recent expansions into Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei. This aligns with Nissan’s broader strategy to increase its export footprint, particularly in Middle Eastern markets like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and Qatar.

Nissan’s growth strategy has also focused on expanding its domestic network, now boasting 273 touchpoints across India. Recent additions in cities like Bengaluru, Srinagar, and Delhi signal the company’s commitment to providing enhanced customer experiences. With a goal to cross 300 touchpoints by the end of this fiscal year, Nissan aims to bring its award-winning vehicles, such as the Magnite, closer to consumers across the country.

As Nissan Motor India continues its upward trajectory, the Magnite stands as a symbol of the brand’s success and vision for the future. With growing demand both at home and abroad, the future looks bright for Nissan’s “Big, Bold, and Beautiful” compact SUV.
