Aston Martin’s New V12 Vanquish: An Icon of Power, Elegance, and Innovation Returns

September 2, 2024 – Venice, Italy: Aston Martin has just unleashed a new era of automotive brilliance with the revival of its legendary Vanquish nameplate. Touted as the ultimate flagship model in its 111-year history, the latest Vanquish stands as a testament to Aston Martin’s engineering prowess, design expertise, and relentless pursuit of luxury supercar performance. Boasting a staggering 835 PS from its 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, the Vanquish sets a new benchmark in power, speed, and refinement, offering car enthusiasts around the world something truly extraordinary.

This new model delivers the highest top speed of any Aston Martin production car, reaching a breathtaking 214 mph. With production limited to fewer than 1,000 examples annually, the Vanquish is poised to reign supreme in the elite world of ultra-luxury supercars.

A Masterpiece of Engineering and Power

At the heart of the 2024 Vanquish is a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, producing an astonishing 835 PS (823 horsepower) and 1000 Nm of torque. These figures make it not only the most powerful Aston Martin ever built but also one of the most formidable production cars on the market. Aston Martin’s engineers have refined the engine to an art form, utilizing advanced technologies such as re-engineered turbochargers, enhanced fuel injectors, and a revolutionary Boost Reserve system. This system ensures that the engine is always ready to unleash its full potential, particularly during overtaking maneuvers or aggressive driving.

The Boost Reserve function accumulates excess turbo boost during partial throttle, allowing for an instant surge of power when the driver demands it. This capability is complemented by an advanced cooling system developed in partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One®, ensuring optimal performance under any driving condition.

The twin-turbo V12 is mated to an advanced ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and, for the first time on an Aston Martin front-engined sports car, an electronic rear limited-slip differential (e-diff). This sophisticated system allows the car to transition between open and locked differential modes in just 135 milliseconds, enhancing agility during tight cornering while maintaining exceptional high-speed stability.

Chassis and Suspension: Unprecedented Dynamics

Underpinning this remarkable engine is an all-new chassis designed for the ultimate combination of structural rigidity and dynamic performance. The wheelbase has been stretched by 80mm, creating a long, elegant profile that also improves stability at high speeds. The chassis features a bonded aluminum structure with double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear setup, similar to its siblings, the DB12 and Vantage, but with significant improvements.

Aston Martin has collaborated with suspension experts Bilstein to equip the Vanquish with Bilstein DTX dampers, which offer exceptional levels of refinement and precision. These dampers adapt to driving conditions with lightning speed, ensuring the car is supple and comfortable in GT mode while offering tighter, more controlled dynamics in Sport and Sport+ modes. The result is a car that can cruise effortlessly on long road trips but also unleash razor-sharp handling when called upon.

State-of-the-Art Braking and Stability Systems

Equipped with a cutting-edge carbon-ceramic brake system, the Vanquish delivers outstanding stopping power. The car’s 410mm front and 360mm rear brakes are designed to withstand temperatures of up to 800°C, ensuring consistent performance even during the most demanding driving conditions. Aston Martin has further enhanced the braking system with Integrated Brake Slip Control (IBC), Integrated Traction Control (ITC), and Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Estimation (IVE), all working together to optimize grip and control.

The advanced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) also integrates seamlessly with the car’s e-diff, ensuring that the Vanquish delivers a precise, responsive driving experience without compromising safety.

An Iconic Design with Motorsport DNA

The new Vanquish takes design cues from Aston Martin’s rich motorsport heritage while pushing forward with a contemporary, elegant aesthetic. The car’s extended wheelbase amplifies its front-engine proportions, creating a long, sweeping bonnet and a teardrop profile that exudes both power and grace.

The front of the car is dominated by an enlarged vaned grille, which has a 13% greater surface area than the previous DBS 770 Ultimate, ensuring optimal cooling for the powerful V12. The panoramic glass roof, a first for Aston Martin’s V12 models, adds a sense of light and openness to the interior, enhancing the driving experience. The rear of the Vanquish features a striking Kamm Tail design, which reduces aerodynamic drag while maintaining stability at high speeds. Sleek LED light blades, reminiscent of those seen on the Valkyrie, give the car an unmistakable presence both day and night.

A Bespoke, Ultra-Luxury Interior

Inside, the Vanquish continues to deliver on its promise of ultra-luxury with a handcrafted, meticulously detailed cabin. The driver-focused interior is designed to create a perfect synergy between comfort and performance. The center console is lowered for a cleaner, more spacious feel, and all primary controls are positioned within easy reach to minimize distractions.

The dashboard features a fully digital 10.25-inch TFT driver display, which can be customized to show a range of information based on the driving mode. The infotainment system, also a 10.25-inch screen, provides full online connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay, and advanced navigation with real-time traffic updates. Bowers & Wilkins provides the audio system, with 15 speakers and a double-amplified surround sound setup for a fully immersive audio experience.

For those looking to personalize their Vanquish, Aston Martin’s bespoke Q division offers virtually limitless customization options. From unique materials and finishes to entirely bespoke components, the Vanquish can be tailored to the owner’s exact specifications.

A Limited Production Run for the True Connoisseur

With only 1,000 units set to be produced each year, the new Vanquish is poised to become a highly sought-after collectible. Deliveries are expected to begin in Q4 of 2024, marking the start of a new era for Aston Martin’s flagship model. Combining blistering performance with world-class luxury and an unmistakable design, the Vanquish is set to reclaim its crown as one of the most desirable supercars in the world.

For those fortunate enough to own one, the 2024 Aston Martin Vanquish will be more than just a car—it will be a piece of history.
