Gurugram | September 1, 2024: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) continues to solidify its presence in the Indian automotive market, reporting impressive sales figures for August 2024. The company recorded total sales of 63,175 units, comprising 49,525 domestic units and 13,650 export units. This performance reflects HMIL’s consistent market leadership and robust demand for its diverse vehicle lineup.
From January to August 2024, HMIL achieved cumulative sales of 5,13,510 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 2.06%. The SUV segment has been a significant contributor to this growth, with models like the Hyundai Creta, Venue, and Exter driving the brand’s domestic success. SUVs accounted for a remarkable 66.8% of HMIL’s domestic sales in the current year, underlining the company’s strategic focus on this high-demand segment.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer at HMIL, highlighted the company’s optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year. “Our SUVs, led by popular models such as the Creta, Venue, and Exter, have been pivotal in driving our growth in 2024. With the upcoming launch of the Hyundai Alcazar, a bold new 6 and 7-seater SUV, we anticipate strong customer response, especially during the festive season,” Garg stated.
As Hyundai prepares for the festive season, the introduction of the Alcazar is expected to further boost the company’s sales trajectory. With a strong product portfolio and a keen understanding of market trends, HMIL remains poised for continued success in the competitive Indian automotive landscape.
