Delhi, India – In a surprising twist, the last Ford Mustang officially sold in India is now on the market for a staggering INR 90 lakh, well above its original price of INR 71 lakh (Ex-showroom) from 2020. Despite being four years old, this iconic American muscle car has not only retained its value but has significantly appreciated, attracting attention from car enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The vehicle in question, a 2020 Ford Mustang S550 Premium GT, is being touted as the “newest” Mustang in India. According to the seller, it is in pristine condition, boasting a first-owner pedigree, a chrome wrap, and a Borla Performance exhaust system. With just 12,000 kilometers on the odometer, the car remains virtually untouched, offering a brand-new interior experience.
Powered by a robust 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine, this Mustang delivers 396 bhp and 515 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 250 kmph. It features a 6-speed automatic transmission and an average fuel efficiency of 7 kmpl, all housed in a design that echoes the cockpit of an airplane, offering both performance and style.
Online reactions to the sale have been mixed, with some commenters criticizing the inflated price tag. One user, neel96x, remarked, “Indian pre-owned car market in a nutshell.” Another, arthamsingh, questioned the price hike, stating, “Brother, the car itself was around 75 lakhs brand new. Tf did he do? Tune it to 1000 hp?”
Others have pointed out the Mustang’s status as a mass-produced vehicle in the United States, where it is priced much lower. Commenter amitc7 noted, “Mustang was always a $25-35k car, selling it for $100k in India is just milking the stupidity of the public.”
The sixth-generation Ford Mustang, known as the S550, was the first model to be marketed globally and produced in right-hand-drive for markets like India. Launched as part of Ford’s “One Ford” strategy, this generation of Mustang combined the brand’s heritage with a modern, international appeal.
With this Mustang being the last of its kind in India, it seems the demand for this iconic muscle car has only grown, reflecting both its cultural impact and rarity in the Indian market.
