Swiss Tuning Marvel Elevates BMW’s Most Powerful SUV
In a spectacular display of automotive prowess, dAHLer Competition Line has once again proven that there is always room for more power and precision. This time, the Swiss tuning experts have set their sights on BMW’s already formidable XM Label Red, creating a truly unrivaled driving experience.
Two years ago, BMW silenced doubters who questioned its ability to produce an SUV more dominant than the X5 M or X7. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of BMW M GmbH, the Munich-based automaker introduced the XM, a behemoth that eclipses even its most impressive predecessors. Every version of the XM is driven by high-performance plug-in hybrid systems, with the XM Label Red standing as the pinnacle of this innovation. It combines a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with an electric motor, delivering a staggering total output of 748 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful BMW series production model to date.
However, the engineers at dAHLer Competition Line, based in Belp, near Bern in Switzerland, have managed to push these boundaries even further. Through their meticulous modifications, they have boosted the plug-in hybrid system’s output by an additional 100 hp and 100 Nm, bringing the new totals to an astounding 848 hp and 1,100 Nm. These enhancements, as is typical of dAHLer, are fully compliant with WLTP and Euro 6d standards and have received EU/CH homologation approval. This certification also extends to their optional sports exhaust system with bi-flap control, which enables the driver to adjust the V8 engine’s roar to their preference by manipulating the valve positions.
Visually, the XM Label Red now commands even more presence with dAHLer Competition Line’s ultra-lightweight CDC2 Forged rims in a 23″ format, chosen specifically for this project. These massive forged rims, featuring an intricate double-spoke and Y-spoke star design, perfectly complement the SUV’s bold profile. The rims, measuring 11×23″, are paired with high-performance tires in sizes 285/35R23 and 325/30R23, ensuring that the XM Label Red not only looks aggressive but also performs with unparalleled stability and grip.
To match the XM’s monstrous power with superior handling, dAHLer Competition Line has introduced sports springs that lower the SUV’s center of gravity and reduce its ground clearance by 25 millimeters. Furthermore, a high-performance coilover suspension system, “built by dAHLer,” is currently in development to provide even greater control and precision for this plug-in hybrid marvel.
