McLaren’s Triumph at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Honoring Senna and Showcasing New Marvels

McLaren’s presence at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, held from July 11-14, promises a spectacular tribute to Ayrton Senna and an impressive display of automotive innovation. The event will feature the stunning McLaren Senna with its unique “Senna Sempre” livery, a central attraction at McLaren House. This exceptional showcase will honor the legacy of Ayrton Senna, a three-time Formula 1 World Champion with McLaren, and highlight the intricate craftsmanship of McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

The McLaren Senna, hand-painted by MSO, will stand alongside a one-of-a-kind MCL38 Formula 1 car, also created in tribute to Senna. These vehicles will reflect the Brazilian driver’s vibrant personality and relentless pursuit of perfection. Ayrton’s nephew, Bruno Senna, will drive the 1991 title-winning McLaren MP4/6, joined by two-time McLaren Formula 1 World Champion Mika Häkkinen and McLaren’s first-ever World Champion, Emerson Fittipaldi, in honoring Senna’s enduring impact on motorsport.

The event will also mark the UK dynamic debut of the new Artura Spider, accompanied by the latest McLaren models and iconic Ultimate Series heritage vehicles. McLaren aims to celebrate over six decades of motorsport excellence and its continued influence on their cutting-edge supercars.

This year’s festival will not only pay homage to Senna but also commemorate McLaren’s significant milestones. The 30-year legacy of Ayrton Senna, remembered through the Monaco Grand Prix’s unique livery, and the 50th anniversary of McLaren’s first Formula 1 World Championship victories with Emerson Fittipaldi in 1974, will be highlighted. The Solus GT, having achieved a Timed Shootout victory in 2023, will return for another spectacular demonstration.

Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see McLaren deliver another milestone event that will delight our fans and bring to life our immense racing heritage, through not only the cars that have delivered race wins and championships, but the drivers that took them there. These iconic cars, and incredible drivers, continue to inspire us and drive us to deliver supercars that push the boundaries of performance on road and track.”

The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed promises to be a remarkable celebration of McLaren’s storied past, innovative present, and promising future in the world of motorsport.
