Latest Concept Vehicle to Enter Gran Turismo Series; Electrified G80 and Neolun Concept Highlighted
Fountain Valley, Calif., June 26, 2024 — Genesis has once again captivated automotive enthusiasts with the debut of the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) Concept at the Busan International Mobility Show 2024 (BIMOS). This groundbreaking event not only marked the Korean premiere of the Genesis Magma lineup but also showcased the redesigned Genesis Electrified G80 and introduced the Genesis Neolun Concept to Asian audiences following its global reveal in New York earlier this year.
Under the theme of pushing boundaries in luxury and performance, Genesis unveiled the X Gran Racer VGT Concept, a pivotal addition to its high-performance portfolio and the brand’s fourth creation for the Gran Turismo digital racing game series. This concept, derived from the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta, boasts advanced aerodynamics with active flaps for precise airflow management, a flat underbody for enhanced stability, and a distinctive Two-Line Crest Grille extending seamlessly from front to rear.
“The Genesis X Gran Racer VGT Concept exemplifies our commitment to blending innovation with exhilarating performance,” stated Genesis Global Head, Mike Song, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to customer-centric luxury.
The interior embodies Genesis’ design philosophy, “The Beauty of White Space,” integrating lightweight materials and a Digital Panorama Interface for streamlined driver interaction. Carbon fiber accents underscore the concept’s dynamic prowess, while a race-inspired steering yoke enhances control.
Powering the X Gran Racer VGT Concept is a front mid-mounted race-spec Lambda II V6 engine augmented by Genesis’ electric supercharger technology, delivering an astounding 1,540 horsepower and 1,051 pound-feet of torque—a testament to Genesis’ pursuit of cutting-edge engineering.
Joining this high-performance marvel at BIMOS is the Genesis Neolun Concept, a full-size electric SUV embodying Korean hospitality with features like B-pillarless coach doors and swiveling front-row seats. This model showcases Genesis’ “reductive design” approach, enhancing elegance with a two-tone Midnight Black and Majestic Blue exterior inspired by Korea’s serene night sky.
Also making its Korean debut is the redesigned Genesis Electrified G80, featuring the brand’s signature G-Matrix Crest Grille and Micro Lens Array headlamps. Inside, a spacious second-row area and advanced comfort features redefine luxury, complemented by innovations like the EasyClose system and VIP seating arrangements.
Visitors to the Genesis booth at BIMOS can explore these innovations firsthand, alongside a lineup including the GV70, GV80, and the distinguished G90 Black. The event, hosted at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, promises a captivating showcase of Genesis’ vision for the future of luxury mobility.
