Škoda India Unveils New Pricing Strategy for Kushaq and Slavia Models

Mumbai, June 18, 2024 – Škoda Auto India has introduced a new pricing strategy for its popular Kushaq and Slavia models, aiming to make the brand more accessible to a broader audience. This move comes as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to increase market penetration and customer base. The updated pricing is set to offer substantial value to potential buyers and is applicable for a limited period.

Key Highlights:

  • Revised Pricing Structure: The Kushaq and Slavia now feature an all-new pricing model, starting at ₹ 10.69 lakh. This adjustment is designed to enhance the value quotient of these vehicles, making them more attractive to customers.
  • New Variants: The Kushaq and Slavia will now be available in three newly named variants: Classic, Signature, and Prestige. Additionally, the Kushaq will offer the Onyx variant at the value end and the Monte Carlo at the premium end.
  • Safety and Features: Both models continue to prioritize safety with six airbags standard across all variants. They also offer premium features such as ventilated seats, electric seat adjustment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 25.4 cm in-car entertainment system, and a sub-woofer integrated into the boot.
  • Engine Options: Customers can choose between a 1.0 TSI petrol engine with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, and a 1.5 TSI petrol engine with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG.

Strategic Benefits:

Škoda’s new pricing strategy is aimed at maximizing value through operational efficiencies and economies of scale. These savings are being directly passed on to customers, offering up to 10% benefits depending on the model and variant selected. The Kushaq Monte Carlo and the entry-level Slavia are expected to see the most significant price reductions.

Comprehensive Customer Offers:

The new value proposition includes a variety of customer-centric offers. These encompass exchange and corporate bonuses, special financing and insurance schemes through banking partners, extended warranties, and a range of service and maintenance packages. The goal is to provide a holistic value that extends beyond the initial purchase, encompassing the overall cost of ownership and enhancing the customer experience.

Sustainability Initiatives:

Škoda’s commitment to sustainability is highlighted by the recent E20 compliance certification of the 1.0 TSI engine, marking it as the first in India to receive such certification from ARAI. The 1.5 TSI engine is also undergoing testing for E20 compliance, with results expected by the end of 2024. This initiative supports the government’s policy for all cars in India to be E20 compliant by April 2025, promoting reduced fossil fuel consumption and lower emissions.

Future Outlook:

Petr Janeba, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, emphasized the company’s commitment to the Indian market and its plans for future growth. The upcoming launch of a new compact SUV in early 2025 is expected to further expand Škoda’s reach, targeting new markets and younger customers. The new pricing strategy for Kushaq and Slavia sets the stage for this expansion, ensuring that the brand remains competitive and accessible.

Škoda Peace of Mind:

Škoda continues to offer a 4-year/100,000 km standard warranty on Kushaq and Slavia, with an optional extension to 6-years/150,000 km. This comprehensive warranty package underscores the brand’s commitment to providing a hassle-free ownership and maintenance experience for its customers.

With these new initiatives, Škoda Auto India is poised to strengthen its position in the market, offering greater value and accessibility to its customers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
