Mercedes-Benz Enhances ‘Core Luxury’ Lineup with Advanced C-Class and GLC Models

Pune: Mercedes-Benz India has bolstered its ‘core luxury’ segment by introducing the 2024 models of its best-selling C-Class and GLC. These updates, featuring new petrol powertrains and significant enhancements in comfort, technology, and safety, aim to meet the evolving preferences of luxury car enthusiasts in India.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, emphasized the company’s commitment to keeping customers excited with timely model updates and new product offerings. “Our ‘always on’ strategy ensures continued value addition with the latest products, featuring enhanced powertrains, features, technology, and safety upgrades. The new C 300 AMG Line, in particular, highlights a market shift towards performance-oriented, fully equipped petrol powertrains,” he stated.

Key Highlights of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class:

  • C 300 AMG Line: Replacing the C 300d, the C 300 AMG Line comes with a 1999cc 4-cylinder petrol engine generating 190kW (258hp), capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds. It features AMG Line exterior and interior styling, the ‘Night Package,’ Burmester 3D surround sound, Digital Lights, Keyless-go Comfort package, and Blind Spot Assist. The C 300 will also be available in new colors: Manufaktur Patagonia Red Bright and Sodalite Blue.
  • Enhanced Features for C 200 and C 220d: These models now include climatized front seats, a 360-degree camera, 100W fast-charging USB ports, adaptive high beam assist, and digital key handover. The C-Class also debuts a new ‘Sodalite Blue’ shade.
  • C 300’s New Engine: The M254 petrol engine delivers impressive performance with an integrated starter-alternator (ISG) providing up to 17 kW of additional output and up to 205 Nm of extra torque. Unique to the C 300 is the overboost function, offering an additional 20 kW (27 hp) for approximately 30 seconds, enhancing driving dynamics.

2024 C-Class Pricing (ex-showroom, India):

  • C 200: INR 61.85 lakhs
  • C 220d: INR 62.85 lakhs
  • C 300 AMG Line: INR 69 lakhs

Key Highlights of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC:

  • Safety and Comfort Upgrades: The GLC 300 4Matic and GLC 220d 4Matic now feature climatized front seats and rear sidebags, enhancing both comfort and safety with a total of nine airbags.
  • Continued Success: The GLC remains Mercedes-Benz India’s highest-selling luxury SUV, with over 14,000 units on Indian roads since its debut.

2024 GLC Pricing (ex-showroom, India):

  • GLC 300 4Matic: INR 75.90 lakhs
  • GLC 220d 4Matic: INR 76.90 lakhs

These latest iterations of the C-Class and GLC underscore Mercedes-Benz’s dedication to offering premium luxury, performance, and safety. The updates are expected to strengthen the brand’s position in the Indian luxury car market, catering to customers seeking top-tier automotive experiences.
