This remarkable number is not only the highest for M&M but also surpasses any other Indian company in the 4-wheeler automotive and farm equipment sectors. With this surge, M&M’s total granted patent portfolio now stands impressively at 1185 across various international jurisdictions.

The company’s strategic emphasis on research and development (R&D) has spurred a 380% increase in patent grants compared to the previous fiscal year, highlighting its commitment to pioneering cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions. The patents encompass diverse domains, including powertrain technologies for internal combustion engines and electric vehicles, vehicle mechanical systems, electronics, manufacturing processes, and more.

M&M’s investment in innovation extends beyond its primary operations, with subsidiary Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd also contributing to the intellectual property growth. Additionally, the company has registered 115 designs and filed 178 new applications in this fiscal period.

Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & CEO (Auto & Farm Sectors) at Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed his enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, “Our relentless pursuit of cutting-edge technologies and our investment in R&D have positioned us as pioneers in the automobile and farm equipment segments. The newly acquired patents cover crucial technological advancements that have significantly enhanced the safety features, performance, and customer experience of M&M’s product offerings. These include developments in active safety systems, advanced driver assistance systems, automotive electronics, lightweight materials, vehicle dynamics, and connected vehicle technologies.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s dedication to innovation is reflected not only in its burgeoning patent portfolio but also in its forward-thinking approach to addressing the complex challenges of modern automotive and agricultural machinery design. As M&M continues to push the boundaries of technology and innovation, it reaffirms its leadership position in the Indian market and its commitment to being future-ready.
