Chennai, March 07, 2024 – It was more than just another school day for 25 lucky girl students from Vadakupattu and Chennakuppam government schools in Tamil Nadu. Thanks to an initiative by Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL), these young minds were treated to an extraordinary sneak peek into the world of automotive manufacturing, marking a prelude to International Women’s Day celebrations.
Under the banner of ‘Inspire Inclusion’, the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, RNAIPL rolled out the red carpet for these aspiring young minds. The event was a potent mix of empowerment and education, aimed at steering the girl students towards envisioning a future where they can be part of innovative industries like automotive manufacturing.
Greeted warmly by RNAIPL’s leadership upon arrival, the students were quickly whisked away for a day of discovery. The company laid all its cards on the table – quite literally – by allowing the students to get up close and personal with their lineup of vehicles. Touch, feel, and a dash of vroom vroom set the stage for what was to become an unforgettable experience.
The crown jewel of the visit was a meticulously planned 50-minute tour of the Vehicle and Powertrain Assembly shopfloors. Led by the formidable women of RNAIPL, the students were given a crash course in car manufacturing. From the nuts and bolts of assembly to the high-octane world of automotive engineering, the students soaked in everything, their curiosity fueling a barrage of questions.
Post-tour, the students gathered for a session that was both reflective and forward-looking. Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director of RNAIPL, underscored the pivotal role of education and determination in driving success. Highlighting the contributions of RNAIPL’s women employees, he positioned them as beacon lights for the young visitors, embodying the power of perseverance and excellence.
The day wrapped up with heart-to-heart breakout sessions, where RNAIPL’s women shared their personal journeys of growth within the company. It was a moment of collective inspiration, a shared space where dreams were encouraged to take flight, irrespective of the challenges ahead.
This visit wasn’t just an educational field trip; it was a catalyst for change, an opportunity for RNAIPL to give back to the community while fostering a new generation of empowered women ready to take on the world of automotive manufacturing. As RNAIPL continues its commitment to sustainable development and community well-being through its CSR initiatives, it’s clear that the gears of change are indeed turning, promising a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
